Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a user equipment (UE) performs a plurality of positioning measurements of a plurality of positioning reference signals (PRS) transmitted by at least one network node, transmits a first physical layer message having a fixed payload size, wherein the first physical layer message includes at least an indication of a type, a number, or both of a first set of positioning measurements of the plurality of positioning measurements to be included in a second physical layer message having a variable payload size, and transmits the second physical layer message having the variable payload size, wherein the second physical layer message includes at least the first set of positioning measurements, and wherein the variable payload size of the second physical layer message is based at least on the type, the number, or both of the first set of positioning measurements.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless device may receive bundling indicators for a plurality of downlink transmissions and corresponding downlink assignment indicators associated with the bundling indicators, determine a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) bundling configuration based on the bundling indicators and the corresponding downlink assignment indicators, and process demodulation reference signals according to the DMRS bundling configuration. A wireless device may also receive bundling indicators for a plurality of downlink transmissions, determine a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) bundling configuration based on the bundling indicators and a gap between successive transmissions of the plurality of downlink transmissions, and process demodulation reference signals according to the DMRS bundling configuration.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods and apparatuses for resolving aliasing ambiguities produced when using channel state information reference signal, a sounding reference signal (SRS) or other transmission as a positioning reference signal (PRS) occupying a subset of tones of a PRS bandwidth. The aliasing ambiguity results in a plurality of different possible positioning measurements, such as time of arrival (TOA), reference signal timing difference (RSTD), or reception to transmission difference (Rx−Tx). The aliasing ambiguity may be resolved using a previous position estimate that may be used to produce an approximation of the expected positioning measurement. A position estimate may be generated using a multiple stage PRS configuration, in which one or more stages provide a coarse position estimate that has no ambiguity, which can be used to resolve the ambiguity of a more accurate position estimate resulting from the PRS signal.

Abstract: Techniques are discussed herein for providing on-demand positioning reference signals (PRS) to user equipment (UE). An example method for determining a location of a user equipment according to the disclosure includes receiving a first assistance data associated with a first positioning reference signal configuration, transmitting a request to modify one or more parameters of the first positioning reference signal configuration, receiving a second assistance data associated with a second positioning reference signal configuration, wherein the second positioning reference signal configuration is based at least in part on the request to modify the one or more parameters of the first positioning reference signal configuration, obtaining measurements from one or more positioning reference signals based at least in part on the second assistance data, and determining the location based at least on part on measurements obtained from the one or more positioning reference signals.

Abstract: The positioning capabilities of a User Equipment (UE) are stored in a core network to reduce positioning latency when the UE indicates that its positioning capabilities are stable and/or are long term valid. The UE may provide its positioning capabilities to a location server during a location session along with an indication of whether the positioning capabilities are stable. The location server may enable storage of the positioning capabilities for the UE in the core network, e.g., in the location server or another entity in the core network such as Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF), if there is an indication that the positioning capabilities are stable. The AMF may include a UE identifier in location requests with which the location server may retrieve the UE positioning capabilities if stored at the location server or may include the UE positioning capabilities if stored at the AMF.

Abstract: Some aspects of the present disclosure provide channel state information (CSI) processing criteria. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) generally includes receiving, from a base station via a first bandwidth part (BWP), control signaling that triggers reporting at least one of a first channel state information (CSI) report associated with the first BWP or a second CSI report associated with a second BWP that is non-active, determining, based on an indication of an active downlink (DL) BWP change, at least one occupation time of one or more CSI processing units (CPUs) associated with the first CSI report or the second CSI report, and taking one or more actions based at least in part on the at least one occupation time.
