Abstract: A random access method and apparatus are provided. The method includes: a terminal device obtains a position of the terminal device and a position of a network device, the terminal device determines a time adjustment value based on the position of the terminal device and the position of the network device, and the terminal device sends a random access preamble based on the time adjustment value and a random access channel (RACH) resource configured by the network device. Based on this solution, the terminal device may determine the time adjustment value based on the position of the terminal device and the position of the network device, and adjust a time for sending the random access preamble on the RACH resource. This helps avoid a problem that random access preamble receiving time windows overlap, thereby increasing a success rate of accessing the network device by the terminal device.

Abstract: Embodiments of this application disclose a positioning method and an apparatus, to reduce a quantity of transmission points needed to calculate a position of a terminal, thereby reducing positioning calculation complexity. The method for calculating the position includes: receiving, by a terminal, positioning assistance information sent by a positioning entity, where the positioning assistance information includes a cell identity of a cell in which a to-be-measured transmission point is located, an identity of the to-be-measured transmission point, and positioning reference signal configuration information of the to-be-measured transmission point; measuring, by the terminal, the to-be-measured transmission point based on the positioning assistance information, to obtain a measurement result, where the measurement result includes positioning reference signal information of the to-be-measured transmission point; and sending, by the terminal, the measurement result to a positioning entity.

Abstract: A communication method and an apparatus are provided. The method includes: receiving, by a terminal device, a first command sent by a network device, wherein the first command carries a first identifier, and is used to activate a first bandwidth part (BWP) indicated by the first identifier, and the first BWP is a BWP on a first component carrier (CC); and ignoring the first command when the terminal device does not support the first BWP and a second BWP being in an active state at the same time, wherein the second BWP is a BWP in the active state on a second CC, and the second CC is different from the first CC. According to the application, the terminal device may determine, based on a capability of the terminal device, to ignore an improper command, to optimize a problem of switching an active BWP in a carrier aggregation scenario.

Abstract: This application provides a fake network device identification method and a communications apparatus. An uplink message sent by a terminal device is forwarded to a first network device via a second network device. After receiving the uplink message, the first network device generates a downlink message for the uplink message, performs security processing on the downlink message based on first time information, and/or sends the downlink message to the second network device. The second network device sends, to the terminal device, the downlink message on which the security processing is performed. The terminal device performs security verification on the received downlink message, and/or identifies whether the second network device is a fake network device. This helps improve communication security.
