Abstract: The power requirements of user equipments (UEs) are expected to increase as their capabilities increase. Some power saving methods have previously been proposed, but are limited by the radio resource control (RRC) protocol and do not address the power consumption associated with having to transition between different RRC states. In some embodiments described herein, there are not different RRC states, but instead a single RRC state. Within that single RRC state, there are different modes of operation, e.g. a default low power operation mode and an enhanced power operation mode. In some embodiments, the UE switches from the default operation mode to the enhanced operation mode on an on-demand basis (e.g. based on the communication capability required by the UE), and then returns back to the default operation mode.

Abstract: Methods and devices are provided for HARQ feedback and retransmission schemes for a two stage DCI transmission scenario. A first HARQ-ACK may be used for the 2nd stage DCI and a second HARQ-ACK may be used for other PDSCH scheduled by the 2nd stage DCI. Dedicated fields may be used in a 1st stage DCI of the two stage DCI scenario for providing update information for PDSCH HARQ feedback timing when the 2nd stage DCI is retransmitted.

Abstract: It is desired to try to reduce power consumption in a transmit-and-receive point (TRP) in a wireless network. In some embodiments, to try to reduce overall power consumption, multiple (e.g. two) sets of radio frequency (RF) components are utilized by a TRP, one set having lower power consumption than the other set(s), and switching between the different sets during operation. For example, a TRP may include a first radio frequency unit (RFU) and a second RFU. The second RFU is designed to have higher power consumption than the first RFU. During operation, the TRP uses the second RFU to perform wireless communication in response to a trigger, and otherwise uses the first RFU to perform wireless communication.
