    Abstract: Some embodiments include an apparatus, method, and computer program product for tracking reference signal (TRS) support of high speed use cases of 5G communications in a single frequency network (SFN), where a user equipment (UE) can measure a Doppler offset of a combined signal from two or more transmission reception points (TRPs) of the 5G communications system. A 5G node B (gNB) node can transmit a periodic, semi-persistent (SP), or aperiodic TRS with high measurement density that the UE uses to measure a Doppler offset of a combined signal. For example, the gNB can: trigger the aperiodic TRS based on a downlink assignment; and/or use lower layer signaling to arrange to transmit a semi-persistent TRS or a periodic TRS with a reduced periodicity. In some embodiments, the gNB can measure the Doppler offset based on an uplink signal, and transmit a TRS based on a pre-compensated Doppler frequency.

    Abstract: Techniques of beamforming in reference signal (RS) transmissions, applicable to frequency ranges including frequencies between 52.6 GHz and 71 GHz, are described. Such techniques may include determining a communication channel is unoccupied for an initial duration, determining a number of communication slots of the communication channel to defer for transmission, and counting one or more communication slots of the communication channel that are not in use. The techniques may include determining the number of counted one or more communication slots is not equal to the determined number of communication slots of the communication channel to defer, and transmitting one or more data units based on the determination that the number of the counted one or more communication slots is not equal to the determined number of communication slots of the communication channel to defer.

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) is configured to handle physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) transmissions during multi-transmission/reception point (TRP) operation. The UE receives a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) transmission configured with downlink control information (DCI) in a single-DCI, multi-transmission/reception point (TRP) operation, wherein the DCI schedules reception of a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) transmission, determines whether or not a TCI field is configured in the DCI, when the TCI field is not configured in the DCI, determining a default beam based on a control resource set (CORESET) with the lowest ID in the PDCCH and when the TCI field is configured in the DCI, determining whether the TCI field indicates a TCI codepoint includes two TCI states.
