    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for re-balancing and healing of an SD-WAN in an unbalanced state and/or experiencing one or more failure states. In response to a request to connect to a new controller resulting from OMP load shedding from a first controller, the system can identify other controllers capable of handling the load requirements of the edge router. The system can incorporate the controller group preference of the edge router and select a second controller based on the identified other controllers and within the preferred controller group. If not possible, the system can temporarily assign the edge router to non-preferred controller groups and move them back to controllers in the preferred controller group once it becomes viable. The system further enhances OMP graceful restart (GR) logic to incorporate the load shedding effect and avoid unnecessary route retention that GR entails.

    Abstract: Heatsinking in laser devices may be improved via a device, including: a header disk having a first face with a circumference; a header post that is thermally conductive, and having: a second face connected to the first face coterminously with the circumference; a third face opposite to the second face; and a fourth face perpendicular to the second face and the third face; a lens holder, having a fifth face connected to the third face; and an optical subassembly connected to the fourth face and optically aligned with the lens holder. The device may also be understood to comprise: a header disk having a circumference; a header post that is thermally conductive, the header post having: an arc coterminous to a portion of the circumference; a mounting face, perpendicular to a plane in which the arc and the circumference are defined; and a bonding face perpendicular to the mounting face.

    Abstract: Techniques for binding communication flows to unique addresses and/or ports, and configuring networking devices internal to a network to apply policy without the need to further introspect a given stream. Further, by creating mappings of unique addresses and/or ports to flows, the network devices are able to enforce policy without needing to coordinate with an edge node of the network at which the communication session terminates. Further, the techniques may include providing an SDN controller with a mapping between a unique address/port and a network flow, determining flow-specific policy to enforce on the flow, and programming one or more network devices to enforce the flow-specific policy in the network using the unique address/port.

    Abstract: Techniques are described herein for service chaining in fabric networks such that hardware resources can be preserved without service nodes needing additional capabilities. The techniques may include storing a first configuration associated with a first VRF instance of a service forwarding node that is connected to a first service of a service chain sequence. The first configuration may indicate an identifier and a type associated with a second service of the service chain sequence where traffic is to be sent after the first service. Additionally, the techniques may also include storing a second configuration associated with a second VRF instance of the service forwarding node that is connected to the second service. The second configuration may indicate that the second service is a last service of the service chain sequence. When traffic is received at the service forwarding node, the service forwarding node can determine whether the traffic is pre-service traffic or post-service traffic.

    Abstract: Techniques are described herein for resolving conflicts in role statuses assigned to a customer edge device by multiple provider edge devices in communication with that customer edge device. In embodiments, such techniques may involve receiving information about a customer edge device in communication with the first provider edge device and storing, based on the information about the customer edge device, an indication of a first role status of the customer edge device. The techniques may further involve receiving, from at least one second provider edge device in communication with the customer edge device, an advertisement message that includes a second role status of the customer edge device, comparing the first role status to the second role status, and upon determining that the first role status does not match the second role status, updating the first role status of the customer edge device.

    Abstract: Various devices, systems, and methods are described herein that provide bi-directional, and even multi-directional airflow within fan systems. These fan systems can be utilized by devices such as datacenter switches to change from one direction of airflow (such as port side inlet) to another direction (such as port side exhaust). This can be done manually by having a multi-directional fan housed within an enclosure that provides access through a hatch door. The multi-directional fan can be removed and reoriented to a second direction, thus providing airflow with the same quality and pressure in multiple directions. Fan changes can also be automated through one or more interlocking rotational gears coupled to the fans within a housing, such that rotating one gear will rotate each of the fans within the housing, thus changing the direction of the airflow. By doing this, only one fan is needed to provide airflow in multiple directions.

A plurality of actual locations associated with a plurality of Access Point (APs) may be received. Then a plurality of signal strengths associated with the plurality of APs may be received. Based on the plurality of signal strengths, a model may be created that models a plurality of inference errors respectively corresponding to the plurality of APs between a plurality of inferred locations respectively corresponding to the plurality of APs and the plurality of actual locations. The model may then be used in determining a location of a device.

    Abstract: In one embodiment, a first device in a network receives a quantum computing power metric indicative of a maximum available compute power of quantum computers. The first device receives, from a second device in the network, a listing of cryptographic suites available on the second device. The first device selects, based on the quantum computing power metric, a particular cryptographic suite from among the listing of cryptographic suites available on the second device. The first device sends, to the second device via the network, an indication that the particular cryptographic suite is to be used to encrypt and decrypt traffic exchanged between the first device and the second device.
