    Abstract: The purpose of the present invention is to maintain the intake pressure of a water supply pump at an operable pressure. A boiler is provided with: condensate pumps (a condensate pump and an auxiliary condensate pump); a branch line that causes water delivered by the condensate pumps to branch; a drum (a low-pressure drum) that is connected to one (a low-pressure branch line) of two lines into which the branch line branches; and a water supply pump that is connected to the other (a high-pressure branch line) of the two lines into which the branching line branches and that pumps water to an evaporator (a high-pressure evaporator). The boiler is additionally provided with pressure applying means that guides a portion of the water in the drum to the water supply pump side when the intake pressure on the inlet side of the water supply pump has become lower than a predetermined pressure.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a Rankine system comprising a valve including a valve member. The valve member is provided with a valve controlling element in the form of an elongated tapered end portion with a tip end facing the duct, wherein the tapered end portion is arranged to be inserted through the opening and into the duct as the valve member is moved towards the valve seat. The actuator is configured to hold the valve member in at least one intermediate position between the first and second end positions, where the tapered end portion occupies a portion of a cross-sectional fluid through-flow area defined by the duct so as to partly restrict a flow of fluid through the duct.

    Abstract: A heat recovery unit for generating a heated fluid by a hot exhaust gas includes a housing having an inlet for introducing hot exhaust gas and an outlet for discharging treated exhaust gas, and arranged in the housing at least one heat exchanger for heat exchange between the hot exhaust gas and a fluid, and an auxiliary combustor for combusting fuel with hot exhaust gas. The auxiliary combustor is provided with a fuel supply, which auxiliary combustor is arranged downstream of the at least one heat exchanger in the housing. An exhaust gas bypass for a part of the hot exhaust gas is provided, having an inlet for exhaust gas, and being positioned upstream of the at least one heat exchanger, and having an outlet in direct fluid communication with the auxiliary combustor.

    Abstract: A gas turbine plant including a gas turbine and a compressor is provided with a steam turbine plant including a steam turbine and a condenser, and, an exhaust heat recovery boiler. Steam from the exhaust heat recovery boiler is directly flown to the condenser of the steam turbine plant through a bypass control valve. A pressure sensor detects pressure in a turbine bypass system. A controller outputs, based on a set value from an input device and a process value from the pressure sensor, an open level instruction value to the control value so as to make the process value consistent with the set value in a predetermined sampling cycle. A corrector corrects the set value from the input device in a direction in which the open level instruction value decreases when the open level instruction value from the controller becomes a value that substantially fully opens the control valve.

    Abstract: A turbine of an organic Ranking cycle (ORC) is described. The turbine includes a shaft supported by at least two bearings and a plurality of axial stages of expansion, defined by arrays of stator blades alternated with arrays or rotor blades. The rotor blades are sustained by corresponding supporting disks. A main supporting disk is directly coupled to the shaft in an outer position with respect to the bearings, and the remaining supporting disks are constrained to the main supporting disk, and one to the other in succession, but not directly to the shaft. Some of the remaining supporting disks are constrained to the main supporting disk and cantileverly extend from the same side of the bearings that support the shaft, so that the center of gravity of the rotor part of the turbine is shifted more towards the bearings.

    Abstract: A system for processing wastewater includes a wastewater source, a biomass burner, and a first heat exchanger. The biomass burner is configured to receive biomass from a biomass source, combust the biomass to produce heat and ash, receive a thermal transfer fluid, and heat the thermal transfer fluid using the heat produced from the combustion of the biomass. The first heat exchanger is configured to heat the wastewater to produce steam. The first heat exchanger includes a first inlet, a second inlet, a first outlet, a second outlet, and a third outlet. The first inlet is configured to receive the wastewater from the wastewater source. The second inlet is configured to receive the thermal transfer fluid from the biomass burner. The first outlet is configured to discharge the steam. The second outlet is configured to discharge the thermal transfer fluid.
