    Abstract: Systems, device, and methods for harvesting fruits or nuts are disclosed. Some fruits or nuts grow on trees, such as almonds. A two-piece harvester is disclosed that mitigates damage to fruits or nuts deposited on the ground after harvesting from the tree. The two-piece harvester may include a shaker configured to shake a tree and cause the fruits or nuts to fall and a receiver configured to collect the fallen fruits or nuts and deposit the fruits or nuts on the ground or in bins. The shaker and the receiver may include cabs that is configured to be in a plurality of different positions. The shaker may also include a wheel that is extendible between a retract position and an extended position. The receiver may also include chute that is configured to deposit the fruits or nuts in different locations based on the direction of travel of the receiver.

    Abstract: A harvester having a frame, an agitating system and a product gathering system. The frame has a central portion configured to receive and pass plants therethrough. The agitating system is positioned within the central portion that has a first side agitating assembly further comprising an axle with an axis of rotation and a plural of axial wands extending axially outwardly therefrom in a spaced apart configuration. The axle has a first end which is both above and outboard of the second end and the axle is angled relative to a vertical plane bisecting the frame body from front to back thereof. The axial wands can be agitated. The product gathering system includes an outer guide wall positioned below the rotary agitator assembly. The outer guide wall is angled relative to a vertical plane bisecting the frame body from front to back thereof.

    Abstract: A berry harvester includes a chassis, a berry removal system, a berry delivery system, an inspection station and a container filling station. The container filling station includes a berry delivery apparatus that conveys berries to containers on a container support. A container weighing system includes a container fill indicator generating a weighing signal. A processor is in communication with the weighing system and incorporates a filter for cancelling vibrations from the weighing signal. A method uses the container weighing system and the processor to indicate when a container is filled to contain a desired amount of berries and automatically reset when the filled container is removed.

    Abstract: A shaped conveyor assembly configured for use in association with a harvester comprising a first side lower conveyor sub-assembly and a second lower conveyor sub-assembly. One or both of the sub-assemblies having a frame structure, a discharge assembly and a conveyor assembly. The frame structure has a gathering portion, an outward portion and a terminating portion.     Abstract: A harvesting head utilized with or incorporated into a mechanical harvesting machine for harvesting crops. The harvesting head has a frame that attaches to a frame member of the harvesting machine. The frame defines a harvesting area sized to receive the canopy of a tree or vine and supports a picking assembly and a motion inducing mechanism. The picking assembly comprises a pair of sub-structures having a forward post member, rearward post member, a connecting member connecting the two posts and a plurality of curvilinear rods, which also interconnect the posts, that extend into the harvesting area. The motion inducing mechanism is connected to and pivots the posts of the picking assembly so as to rapidly move the rods forward and backward to engage the canopy and dislodge the crop therefrom. A conveying assembly conveys the crop to a bin.

    Abstract: A graphical user interface is disclosed for controlling a harvesting system, the harvesting system driving each of two shaking actuator frequencies individually, the user interface setting or displaying the frequencies of the two actuators as a single point on a display—a Frequency-Frequency User Interface (FFUI). The FFUI abstracts the tuning process of shaking with independent frequency control, allowing a user to choose the parameters for shaking the tree, e.g., frequencies, duration at a given frequency, etc., all while observing the effects of the shake taking place on the tree. The FFUI employs user gestures to map the shaker eccentric speeds and directions to the x and y coordinates of a graph, with the length of time a user gesture remains at any given coordinate pair determining the time that the first and second eccentric frequencies are driven according to the values of the given coordinate pair.

    Abstract: A pivot pin assembly for a tree shaker pivotally attaches the clamping arm to the stationary arm. Each end of the cylindrical pivot pin extends outside of a cylindrical bore of the clamping arm. A longitudinal load member extends through an aperture in the stationary arm and into an aperture in the cylindrical pivot pin. An axial load may be applied to the longitudinal load member which compresses a plate of the stationary arm against the cylindrical pivot pin, but without compressing the stationary arm against the clamping arm. This configuration allows substantial torque to be applied to the longitudinal load member, which reduces play between the stationary arm and the clamping arm without inhibiting the free rotation of the clamping arm. Application of this torque eliminates radial and vibratory movement in the shaker head, which otherwise cause damage to the components of the shaker head.
