摘要: A mouth guard senses impact forces and determines if the forces exceed an impact threshold. If so, the mouth guard notifies the user of the risk for injury by haptic feedback, vibratory feedback, and/or audible feedback. The mouth guard system may also remotely communicate the status of risk and the potential injury. The mouth guard uses a local memory device to store impact thresholds based on personal biometric information obtained from the user and compares the sensed forces relative to those threshold values. The mouth guard and its electrical components on the printed circuit board are custom manufactured for the user such that the mouth guard provides a comfortable and reliable fit, while ensuring exceptional performance.

摘要: Aspects relate to calculating energy expenditure values from an apparatus configured to be worn on an appendage of a user. Steps counts may be quantified, such as by detecting arm swings peaks and bounce peaks in motion data. A search range of acceleration frequencies related to an expected activity may be established. Frequencies of acceleration data within a search range may be analyzed to identify one or more peaks, such as a bounce peak and an arm swing peak. Novel systems and methods may determine whether to utilize the arm swing data, bounce data, and/or other data or portions of data to quantify steps. The number of peaks (and types of peaks) may be used to choose a step frequency and step magnitude. At least a portion of the motion data may be classified into an activity category based upon the quantification of steps.

摘要: A tracking device with a screen that displays the mode of the tracking device on a screen. The device modes may include sleep mode, monitor mode, locate mode, and emergency mode. Each mode represents a frequency of transmission and which can be changed by the software developer or by the consumer in their software application. The sleep mode will be the fewest frequency pings and may be the mode in which the tracking device is operating while it is in a geofence. Monitor mode will be a higher frequency of pings and a locate mode may be yet a further increased number of pings per given time interval. The emergency mode will be entered when, for example, the pet is outside of the geofence and the owner needs to receive an intense number of pings to assure proper location, especially if the pet is moving. A charge may be made to the customer to enable readouts showing the mode and battery life left, and that the revenues derived from the customer, and in the case where the tracking device is used for pets, may be shared with the pet store. The user will be able to know the battery life remaining in any of the modes. The software application will communicate with the tracking device to change the frequency of the pings.

摘要: A clinical assessment tool coupled to a walking aid for enhancing a therapist's observation-based gait assessment with use of additional objective and quantitative data such as acceleration, angular velocity, and applied forces. The assessment tool facilitates appropriate assistive gait device prescription, provides patients and therapists feedback during gait training, and reduces wrist and shoulder injuries with walking aid usage. The assessment tool is configured to detect timing and speed of walking aid, placement, angular acceleration of the walking aid, and amounts of weight borne on the walking aid.

摘要: A vibration sensor for construction projects has a housing, a low range accelerometer and a high range accelerometer disposed in the housing, and an analog-to-digital conversion circuit connected to the low and high range accelerometers. The low range accelerometer may have a noise floor below 0.0248 g across frequencies up to 1 kHz, especially between 1 Hz and 315 Hz. The high range accelerometer has a maximum acceleration equal to or greater than 50 g across frequencies up to 1 kHz, especially between 1 Hz and 315 Hz.

摘要: An acceleration detecting device includes a power source, an acceleration sensor, an acquiring section, a rotation period calculating section, and an acquisition period setting section. The acceleration sensor is configured to detect a centrifugal acceleration generated by rotation of a wheel assembly. The acquiring section is configured to acquire a detection value from the acceleration sensor with a predetermined acquisition period, thereby acquiring the detection value from the acceleration sensor each time the wheel assembly rotates a constant angle. The rotation period calculating section is configured to calculate a rotation period of the wheel assembly. The acquisition period setting section sets the acquisition period. The acquisition period setting section is configured to increase a number of times the detection value is acquired from the acceleration sensor per rotation of the wheel assembly as the rotation period calculated by the rotation period calculating section becomes longer.

摘要: A road surface condition identification apparatus for identifying a road surface condition is provided. The road surface condition identification apparatus includes a vibration detector unit configured to output a detection signal being an analog signal according to magnitude of vibration of the tire. For identifying the road surface condition, the road surface condition identification apparatus performs A-D conversion of converting the detection signal of the vibration detector unit into a digital signal. Based on data on vehicle speed, the road surface to condition identification apparatus sets a conversion range of the magnitude of the vibration of the tire used in the AD conversion from the detection signal into the digital signal.

摘要: Disclosed are embodiments of a tapered bolt receiver for a door lock to accommodate misalignment, between a deadbolt mounted to a door, and an opposing jamb. The tapered bolt receiver can be configured to accommodate misalignment for a deadbolt having a non-tapered bolt, such as for an electromechanical smart lock having a battery stored within a battery compartment that is integrated with an enhanced bolt. Also disclosed are embodiments of a deadbolt plate pivot assembly that is pivotably mountable to a corresponding deadbolt assembly to define a plate pivot system, to accommodate a beveled door edge. An illustrative embodiment of the deadbolt plate pivot assembly includes opposing plate that captures a hinge assembly, which can include plastic plate hinges, which serve to locate the deadbolt plate pivot assembly with respect to a corresponding bolt housing, and can provide a spring force and/or constant torque when mounted to a beveled door.
