摘要： The apparatus is intended for the breaking of ground used for the cultivation of plants with a probe, whereby by means of a rapid closing valve compressed air and by means of an injector valve a substance may be introduced into the soil in an impact like manner. The rapid closing valve is arranged in the upper area and the injector valve in the lower area of an intermediate reservoir for the substance. The rapid closing valve is followed by an injector tube with a compressed air outlet. The injector tube may be raised in case of an open rapid closing valve with a delay in time from an injector valve seat of the intermediate reservoir to release the injector valve.

摘要： Liquid applications of materials such as herbicides usually are broadcast over the field and then incorporated by harrowing or the like. The present device utilizes a plurality of open based boxes having a rotary cultivator therein with a spray nozzle attached to a supply of liquid chemical under pressure thus restricting the application of the chemical to a band the width of the box and incorporating it at the same time. Rake teeth smooth out the soil behind each applicator and a seeding or planting machine may be hitched behind the incorporator followed by a packer so that the entire chemical treatment, incorporation thereof, planting and packing can be undertaken in one pass over the field.

摘要： A fertilizer injection apparatus having hollow, ground-piercing knives connected by tubes to a hopper with a fertilizer delivery system. A tool bar is connected to the hopper by rigid links pivoted to the tool bar at one end about the single axle of the hopper at the other end. A bell crank lever mechanism interconnected between the tool bar, each link and the hopper, maintains the hopper level with the ground regardless of whether the knives are above ground or how far they are inserted. The tool bar and hopper combination are pivotally towed by a tractor and a liquid fertilizer tank system which delivers its contents through hoses to an anterior point on each knife is towed behind the hopper.

摘要： A cultivating implement include a soil working tool having an elongate substantially planar blade. The blade extends sidewardly and downwardly at an acute angle to the vertical so that its plane is substantially parallel to the direction of movement through the soil and so that soil is lifted without inversion over the blade during passage through the soil. A movable extension is mounted to the blade trailing edge and is adjustable between first and second rigid positions to adjust the lifting action on the soil and thus adapt it to a wide variety of soil types and moisture conditions. At the lower end of the blade is a shoe member with an upwardly and rearwardly inclined upper surface at a leading end thereof, and an upright and rearwardly extending side surface substantially parallel to the direction of travel to provide a bearing surface for resisting lateral forces on the tool due to lifting action of the blade. The shoe member imparts lateral stability and factilitates penetration.

摘要： Method and apparatus for planting seeds in a field. An anti-cohesion liquid chemical is injected at 30 to 50 p.s.i. into a narrow ribbon of soil, no more than two inches wide and two inches deep. Immediately thereafter, the soil ribbon is vigorously agitated at 900 to 2000 r.p.m. to insure coating of all of the soil particles with the chemical to a depth below that at which the seed is to be planted. The seeds are then placed at precise locations within and covered by the treated soil, and the soil over them is firmed.

摘要： Cold anhydrous ammonia, preferably cold liquid anhydrous ammonia at substantially ambient or atmospheric pressure is applied to feed grains, forages and anaerobically fermentable plant material to supply thereto and provide therein non-protein nitrogen (NPN). The cold anhydrous ammonia is obtained by supplying a stream of ambient temperature, pressurized anhydrous liquid ammonia to an expansion chamber for expansion therein to provide the cold anhydrous ammonia. Cold anhydrous ammonia, preferably substantially only cold liquid anhydrous ammonia, is recovered from the expansion chamber operated under substantially adiabatic conditions, at a temperature in the range -30.degree. F. to about -17.degree. F. and at substantially ambient or atmospheric pressure, such as at a pressure in the range 1 pound per square inch below atmospheric pressure up to about 5 pounds per square inch atmospheric pressure.

摘要： An agricultural implement, such as a cultivator or harrow has fluid sprayers mounted on a boom extending across the implement's width. Adjacent each sprayer, a monitoring device is positioned to signal if the sprayers malfunction. The monitoring device includes a dielectric housing having an upper holder for a wire probe and a detachable lower cover that is hollow and has an open lower end. The cover has an inner chamber and an external skirt. The probe extends through the chamber and out of the lower end to a location near the outer edge of the spraying pattern. It is preferred that the lower portion of the probe be curved and extend in the direction of the fluid being sprayed. Each probe communicates to a respective light mounted on a control box located within the view or supervision of the implement operator so that any malfunction of a sprayer is immediately sensed.
