    摘要: A sensor base structure (24) for supporting high and low pressure sensors (20,22) having autoclave type connectors (44) and communicating pressurized fluid from the main flowline (10) to the sensors. The sensor base structure comprises a cylindrical manifold (52) having a longitudinal passage (54) therein and including a plurality of lateral bores (58) extending therethrough intersecting the longitudinal passage. One end (60) of each lateral bore threadably receives the autoclave connectors of the respective pressure sensors. The opposite end (61) of the bore (58) threadably receives a plug (62) having an externally threaded portion (64) and a reciprocal autoclave connector (66) facing the pressure sensor to provide a high pressure metal-to-metal seal upon contact with the respective autoclave connectors. Each plug has fluid communication means (70, 72, 74) therethrough such that when the plug is positioned within the lateral bore the reciprocal autoclave connector of the plug is in fluid communication with the longitudinal passage of the manifold. Furthermore, the plug includes a secondary sealing means (76, 78, 80) to provide a seal between the plug and lateral bore of the manifold. The plug allows the respective pressure sensors to be rotated to a preselected rotational alignment relative to each other and the sensor base while providing a metal-to-metal autoclave seal and secondary seal to prevent the escape of pressurized fluid from the sensor base structure.

    摘要: A valving mechanism for a lung controlled pressure respirator system which uses a mask which fits to the head of a person and includes an outer mask portion adapted to be sealed around the periphery of the person's face and an inner mask portion arranged within the outer mask portion, comprises a housing wtih a flexible diaphragm which extends across the interior of the housing. On one side of the diaphragm the housing is exposed to atmospheric pressure and on the opposite side it is connected to a pressure space defined between inner and outer mask portions of the oxygen mask. The housing also has a control valve portion in communication with the opposite side of the diaphragm. A respirator breathing air supply conduit is connected to the control valve portion. The closing piston valve is movable in the control valve portion and has a port which is alignable with the breathing air supply conduit to permit flow from the breathing air supply conduit to the control valve portion and through the communication of the control valve to the pressure space between the inner and outer mask of the oxygen breathing mask. The construction includes a control tipping lever which is pivotally mounted between the control diaphragm and the closing piston valve and has an arm portion which is engageable with the diaphragm and is displaceable by movement of the diaphragm to displace the closing piston between positions in which the port varies its position in respect to disalignment witwh the supply conduit so as to vary the amount which is supplied into the pressure space between the inner and outer mask of the breathing mask.

    摘要: A relay valve for controlling fluid flow to and from a valve actuator included in a safety system for a flowline such as a production line of an oil or gas well. The relay includes a slide valve (60) which is manually pushed inwardly to the open or set position and held therein by pilot fluid which is also applied to the valve actuator. A visual indicator mounted on a knob (102) of the slide valve is operated by fluid applied to a passage (96) formed in the slide valve. A vent port (82) prevents pilot pressure from moving the slide valve from the closed position to the open position. A modified relay valve (150) has separate inlet ports (198 and 200) for receiving pilot fluid and actuator fluid and a vent port (206) which is in direct fluid communication with the pilot port in the closed position of the slide valve.

    摘要: A valve assembly comprises a valve body having a hollow and a valve element longitudinally movable between first and second positions therein. The valve assembly has at least one inlet and at least one outlet in pressure communicating relation to the hollow. The valve element in its first position blocks pressure communication between the inlet and the outlet. In its second position, the valve element permits pressure communication between the inlet and the outlet. A pressure sensitive indicator is operatively associated with the valve element. The assembly provides pressure communication between the inlet and the indicator when the valve element is in one of its positions and blocks such pressure communication in the other position. The assembly may also include other inlets and outlets, and the high pressure inlets are preferably longer than the respective controlling seals. Thus the seals need not cross the inlets to control flow therethrough. The bypass valve assembly can be incorporated in a system for monitoring pressure within a fluid flow-line and selectively controlling fluid flow in that line and in a method for testing the controlling apparatus without interruption of flow in the line being monitored.

    摘要: The valve spool of a three-way pilot valve responds to changes in pressure in a pipeline downstream from a shut-off valve that is biased to close by spring pressure and has a control cylinder to admit pressurized control fluid to open in opposition to the spring pressure. When the pipeline pressure is in the normal range the valve spool is at a normal position where it places the pressurized control fluid in communication with the control cylinder of the shut-off valve to keep the shut-off valve open. When the pipeline pressure drops below the normal range the valve spool moves in one direction from its normal position to a first alternate position to cause the shut-off valve to close and when the pipeline pressure rises above the normal range the valve spool moves in the opposite direction to a second alternate position to cause the shut-off valve to close. At each of the two alternate positions of the valve spool, it cuts off the source of pressurized fluid and at the same time vents the control cylinder of the shut-off valve to close the shut-off valve. When the pipeline pressure returns to the normal pressure range, the valve spool returns automatically to its normal position to open the shut-off valve.
