摘要: Systems efficiently using heat to create a creative design using a wood burning pen are disclosed. The embodiments a wood burning pen equipped with two receiver tubes angled 0.5°-4° away from each other, two screws capable of tightening the contact between two contact rods and the receiver tubes, and a tip wire connecting the two contact rods. The contact rods are inserted into the receiver tube openings. The contact rods are tightened into place with the screws. The two receiver tubes conduct electricity through the body of the wood burning pen. Because of the screws contact with the receiver, the electricity travels through the contact rods, heating tip wire. The tip wire may then be used to create decorative designs in wood.

摘要: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for marking vehicles using a laser. In order to allow any part of the vehicle to be marked using a simple, strong laser beam delivery conduit, the laser is mounted on a structure 101 which extends over a vehicle station 102. The structure defines at least three laser mounting positions and preferably four laser mounting positions A, B, C, D, spaced apart from one another in two dimensions for mounting at least one laser apparatus 107. The laser apparatus 107 comprises a laser emitter 108 for producing a laser beam adapted to mark a part of the vehicle and laser beam delivery means 110 for delivering a laser beam from the laser emitter 108 to a selectable point of the vehicle station 102. The laser apparatus 107 is movable between at least two and preferably all four of the laser mounting positions A, B, C, and D.

摘要: A matrix is formed into a desired shape by pouring transparent liquid material into a mold. The material progresses from the liquid to the gelatinous state. Laser sculpting steps are performed when the material is still in a gelatinous condition to form small spots in the matrix. Because the material is non-solid gel when the laser beam applies its focused energy, there is no cracking or destruction. Intensity and duration of the laser pulse determine the size of the spots as does the timing in relation to the matrix material finally changing from gel to solid. Particular visual effects are produced at different degrees of solidity when sculpting. The liquid in the mold may be pressurized for removal of air bubbles after initial pouring of the matrix material and application of pressure after the laser sculpting controls the size of the spots in the finished product.

摘要: Embodiments of methods and an apparatus for creating points or areas of laser-induced damage inside a transparent material are disclosed. One or more embodiments of the invention comprise a method and system for producing etch points by control of breakdown process development. In one embodiment, at the beginning an applied laser radiation level just exceeds an energy threshold for creating a plasma condition in the material, and thereafter the energy level of the applied laser radiation is just maintain the plasma condition and is applied before the plasma condition extinguishes, but after a shock wave associated therewith has passed. Other embodiments of the invention comprise a method and a system for producing etch points by controlling a space structure of laser beam. According to the invention a laser generates a TEMmnm radiation. The values of the integers m and n are controlled and determined so as to reproduce particular gray shades for a particular point of an image. Points or areas of laser-induced damage produced by these methods do have the traditional and undesirable star configuration. Furthermore, it is possible to control the brightness of these points without changing their size.

摘要: A method and apparatus for production of high-resolution laser-induced damage images by small etch points is based on generation of the initial electron density in the relatively large volume, creation of the breakdown at a small part of the said volume and control of the energy amount enclosed inside the plasma. The method uses two laser radiations: the first has comparatively long pulse width, its energy does not exceed damage threshold value, and it is focused at relatively large focal spot; the second has shorter pulse duration, it is focused at smaller spot and its energy exceeds appropriate threshold value. The system produces laser-induced damage images by joint using of an optical scanner (deflector) and a drive table for movement of article. The system works without interruption of article movement relative to the laser beam and creates image areas with different brightness by modulation of article replacement speed and frequency of scanning.

摘要: Apparatus and methods for decorating a gemstone with colored indicia so that the indicia is readily visible from an exterior surface of the gemstone. The indicia is engraved on an predetermined exterior surface portion of the gemstone. The exterior surface on which the indicia is engraved may be the exterior surface from which it is visible, or another surface. The gemstone may be semi-precious, man-made, or precious, and can be faceted or cabochon. The indicia is engraved in the exterior surface by a laser beam. The laser beam is directed to the exterior surface, while the gemstone is held in a manner so that a significant portion of the laser beam is precluded from reflecting internally within the gemstone, thereby ensuring that the gemstone is not damaged by the laser beam. Once engraved a colored inlay, e.g., paint, is provided in the engraved recess to complete the decorative indicia. The decorative indicia is of a sufficient size for the message thereof is readily visible to the naked eye of a person when viewing it from the from predetermined exterior surface.
