    Abstract: The disclosure relates to a communication technique for convergence of a 5G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate beyond a 4G system with an IoT technology, and a system therefor. The disclosure may be applied to an intelligent service (e.g., smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car or connected car, health care, digital education, retail business, security- and safety-related service, etc.) on the basis of a 5G communication technology and an IoT-related technology. A is provided for a base station in a communication system, which includes transmitting, to a terminal, a configuration for a CSI-RS resource set, wherein the configuration for the CSI-RS resource set includes information for at least one CSI-RS resource and repetition information, and wherein the at least one CSI-RS resource is associated with a same beam in case that the repetition information is set as on; and receiving, from the terminal, CSI based on the configuration for the CSI-RS resource set.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are provided in a wireless communication system. A plurality of configurations associated with channel state information (CSI) is received from a base station. Each configuration includes information on an aperiodic CSI-reference signal (CSI-RS) resource, and the aperiodic CSI-RS resource is associated with quasi co-location (QCL) information. Downlink control information (DCI) including information indicating a configuration among the plurality of configurations is received from the base station. A measurement is performed based on the aperiodic CSI-RS resource associated with the configuration indicated by the DCI. A CSI report is transmitted to the base station based on the measurement.
