Abstract: The present invention relates to methods and arrangements in a base station and a user equipment for determining an uplink transmission timing correction for communication in a telecommunication system in which aggregation of component carriers is applied. The base station receives a signal from the user equipment on an uplink (UL) component carrier and measures the arrival time of the signal. A timing correction of the UL transmission timing based on the arrival time of the signal is determined. Thereupon the base station determines for which of the uplink component carriers used by the user equipment the timing correction is valid. The timing correction and the validity information is sent to the user equipment. The user equipment adjusts the UL transmission timing for each UL component carrier the timing correction is valid for.

Abstract: Exemplary methods for performing distributed data aggregation include receiving Internet Protocol (IP) traffic from only a first portion of the network. The methods further include utilizing a big data tool to generate a summary of the IP traffic from the first portion of the network, wherein a summary of IP traffic from a second portion of the network is generated by a second network device utilizing its local big data tool. The methods include sending the summary of the IP traffic of the first portion of the network to the third network device, causing the third network device to utilize its local big data tool to generate a summary of the IP traffic of the first and second portion of the network based on the summaries received from the first and second network devices, thereby allowing the IP traffic in the network to be characterized in a distributed manner.

Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to a method in a first communication node (10′) for transmitting a packet in a first packet network operated by a first network operator towards a destination node (10″,12). The first communication node (10′) is comprised in the first packet network. The first communication node (10′) receives a packet with a first value related to resource sharing in a second packet network operated by a second network operator, wherein the first value indicates a level of importance of the packet relative importance of another packet along a scale of the second packet network. The first communication node (10′) remarks the packet with a second value related to resource sharing in the first packet network, wherein the second value indicates a level of importance of the packet relative importance of another packet along a scale of the first packet network. The first communication node (10′) transmits, over the first packet network, the remarked packet towards the destination node (10″,12).

Abstract: A system and method for detecting, reporting and collecting information associated with network events is provided. A network element, such as an Event Reporter, detects an event that requires reporting to a manager of the network. The Event Reporter can determine if it is the lead responsible for reporting the event and forward it directly to the manager. Alternatively, it can forward the event report to a peer entity that has been designated as the lead. If the Event Reporter is the lead for the event, it can determine that it should relinquish the lead responsibility and initiate a hand-over of the lead role to a peer.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a link adaptation scheme. In one embodiment, there provides a method for performing link adaptation in an uplink subframe for a first cell, the method comprising: obtaining interference to the uplink subframe of the first cell from at least one neighboring cell's downlink subframe occupying a time interval same as the uplink subframe; determining whether the obtained interference exceeds a predetermined threshold; and applying to the uplink subframe a first link adaptation loop when the obtained interference exceeds the predetermined threshold.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for reducing power consumption and/or decreasing latency for a wireless device in a wireless communications system. In particular, the systems and methods disclosed herein are particularly beneficial for Machine Type Communication (MTC) devices, but are not limited thereto. In some embodiments, a method of operation of a node of a wireless communications system comprises determining a Modulation and Coding Scheme (MCS) that is optimized for MTC for one of an uplink from a MTC device to a base station and a downlink from the base station to the MTC device, and using the MCS with respect to the one of the uplink from the MTC device to the base station and the downlink from the base station to the MTC device. By optimizing the MCS, power consumption by the MTC device and/or latency can be reduced.

Abstract: A wireless access point device that schedules packet transmission and reception by devices (access point and stations) in a wireless local area network detects the presence of periodic transmissions on a first carrier frequency, wherein one or more of the detected periodic transmissions will interfere with reception of a packet by at least one of the devices. A different one of the devices is identified such that the detected periodic transmissions will not interfere with reception of a packet by the different one of the devices. Packet transmission and reception are scheduled within the wireless local area network such that said different one of the devices is scheduled to receive a packet during an occurrence of the detected periodic transmissions.
