    摘要: An open-lattice, foldable, self-deployable structure with a number of spaced, bendable longitudinal members forming cells each bounded by a portion of two spaced longitudinal members and two spaced diagonal members. The diagonal members are joined to the longitudinal members at the cell boundary intersections of the diagonal members and the longitudinal members. The longitudinal members are made of a material which bends by a predetermined amount below the material's yield point and the diagonal members are made of a material which both bends and twists by a predetermined amount below the material's yield point so that the structure can be collapsed and then self resurrected.

    摘要: A raised access flooring system is disclosed, which comprises a raised access flooring system module comprising a space frame web which is supported by adjustable pedestals, wherein the space frame web comprises a plurality of elongate structural members and a grid. A flooring member is fixedly attached to the web. The pedestals may be positioned under the grid. Some of the elongate structural members forming the web are inclined to the flooring member while those close to the edges of the web are more vertically oriented. This space frame arrangement economizes material usage and reduces cost compared to conventional modules. The module is so configured that it can be emplaced as a member of a flooring system, and is easily removable and interchangeable. In addition, because of the more efficient weight distribution afforded by the space frame design, portions of the web may be removed to accommodate electrical boxes without comprising the strength of the module to the degree such removal would compromise prior art modules utilizing ribs or post and beam construction.

    摘要: A metal space truss comprises two generally horizontally extending and vertically spaced lattices, an upper one composed of two intersecting groups of parallel steel T-bars having downwardly directed webs with generally vertically oriented side faces forming one or more inner corners in each node, and a lower one composed of two intersecting groups of parallel steel bars also having cross sections presenting generally vertically oriented side faces forming in each node one or more inner corners being unobstructed in a direction towards said upper lattice. The two lattices are interconnected by a plurality of struts, each of which has a generally trough-shaped cross section and extends from a first node in said upper lattice to a second node in said lower lattice in a manner to form an oblique angle with the respective planes of the two lattices and also an oblique angle to the bars thereof. The respective end portions of each such strut are specially designed to be secured to said first and second nodes, respectively, by means of double bolt connections while being received in related inner corners of the nodes.

    摘要: A truss structure for use in a gravity-free environment is disclosed together with methods and apparatus for constructing the same. The structure, characterized by high stiffness and a precise self-determined geometry and having a prism-form with square right cross section, is constructed from a plurality of substantially identical triangular frame elements. The truss structure may be manually constructed from a multi-row chain of interconnected elements or from a four row network of elements. The structure may also be constructed using an automatic method wherein individual frame elements are fed from four stack support and feed units to a holding fixture having a square cross section.
