An image generation section (48) generates a display target image including, as a part, the image sized according to the setting of the safe area. A display control section (50) causes the display section to display the display target image.

A transmission image generation section generates a transmission image that represents a portion of the display target image and excludes at least a portion of the display non-target region. A transmission section transmits the transmission image.

Abstract: Provided are an alpha value determination apparatus, an alpha value determination method, a program, and a data structure of image data that can represent an image rich in both color and transparency while suppressing the storage capacity necessary for storing the image data. A pixel data storage unit stores a plurality of pieces of pixel data indicating a pixel value and an index and associated individually with a plurality of pixels included in an image. An alpha value data storage unit stores alpha value data that is referenced in common by the index indicated in the plurality of pieces of pixel data and that indicates correspondence between the index and an alpha value. A combined image generation unit determines alpha values of a plurality of pixels associated with the respective pieces of pixel data based on the index indicated in the pixel data and the alpha value data.

Abstract: A luminance space conversion section of an information processing apparatus converts an image signal represented in a luminance space corresponding to an SDR into a signal represented in a luminance space corresponding to an HDR, and outputs the converted signal to a synthesis processing section that performs alpha blend processing on an HDR image. In an adjustment mode, a parameter adjustment section allows a display apparatus to display an adjustment image represented in the SDR and adjusts a parameter used for a conversion of the luminance space so that a change in a display image is made small before and after converting the luminance space. The parameter is stored in a conversion parameter storage section after the adjustment and is used when a luminance signal conversion section performs conversion processing.

Abstract: During a period in which it is necessary to display two or more images in a superimposed manner, an image generation block of an information processing apparatus supplies the data of the image concerned to a superimposition processing block. A first image acquisition block and a second image acquisition block of the superimposition processing block acquire a first image and a second image, respectively, to be displayed in a superimposed manner. A luminance range adjustment block adjusts at least one luminance range as required with amount of adjustment corresponding to an alpha (α) value set to the second image. An output value computation block executes the computation of alpha blending by use of the image after adjustment so as to determine the pixel value of a display image, thereby outputting the determined pixel value to an image output block.

Abstract: An image generating section reads image data from an image storing section to generate an original image in keeping with the attitude of a head-mounted display. A lens distortion correcting section generates a primary image by correcting beforehand the original image in a manner canceling out the distortion thereof that appears when viewed through lenses of the head-mounted display. A different image embedding section generates an embedded image by embedding a different image into an unused area of a rectangular format for transmitting the primary image. An HDMI transmitting section transfers the embedded image to the head-mounted display.

The image acquisition section also acquires a delivery target two-dimensional image indicating a two-dimensional object targeted for delivery, the delivery target two-dimensional image having the same resolution as that of an image to be delivered. A resizing section resizes the game image to the resolution of the delivery target two-dimensional image so as to generate a resized game image. An image generation section generates an image that combines the resized game image with the delivery target two-dimensional image.
