Abstract: An electronic device for preventing a false touch and a method thereof are provided. An operation method of an electronic device includes identifying each node value detected in at least one node positioned in a range that is set on a basis of a node where a maximum node value is detected, identifying a number of nodes where node values equal to or greater than a set percentage of the maximum node value are detected among nodes within the set range, and, based on the number of nodes, determining whether to receive an input of a touch region on the node where the maximum node value is detected.
