Abstract: A display panel includes a plurality of scan lines that receive scan signals, a plurality of data lines that receive data signals, lines that receive masking signals according to the scan signals, and a plurality of pixels respectively connected to the plurality of scan lines and the plurality of data lines. The error detection circuit receives the scan signals that are transmitted through the plurality of scan lines, and outputs an error detection signal based on the scan signals. Power is not supplied to the plurality of pixels when the error detection signal is at an activated level.

Abstract: A method of driving a display device including driving a display panel including a sensing area defined above a fingerprint sensor in an initial mode, driving the sensing area in a first color pattern and a second color pattern having a color different from a color of the first color pattern, sensing a fingerprint through the fingerprint sensor that receives a light reflected by the fingerprint when the fingerprint is adjacent to the sensing area, determining whether the sensed fingerprint is a duplicate fingerprint, and performing a user authentication mode when the sensed fingerprint is a normal fingerprint. The first color pattern has a light transmittance higher than a light transmittance of the second color pattern.
