Abstract: Provided is an organic light emitting device for which lifetime is increased by preventing its constituent hole transport layer from deteriorating due to introduction of electrons and excitons from its light emitting layer into the hole transport layer. The organic light emitting device includes a substrate, a first electrode formed on the substrate, a hole injection layer formed on the first electrode, a hole transport layer formed on the hole injection layer, a buffer layer formed on the hole transport layer, a light emitting layer formed on the buffer layer, an electron transport layer formed on the light emitting layer, an electron injection layer formed on the electron transport layer, a second electrode formed on the electron injection layer, and a blocking layer formed between the hole transport layer and the buffer layer so as to contact the hole transport layer and the buffer layer.
