    Abstract: A display device includes a display panel which includes pixels arranged in a matrix form and a controller which receives a first image signal corresponding to a first active period of a first frame, outputs a first final output signal corresponding to a first conversion active period of the first frame, and drives the display panel based on the first final image signal. The controller includes a timing changing unit which receives the first image signal and changes a first image signal pixel size corresponding to the first image signal to a panel pixel size corresponding to the display panel to generate the first output signal, and a frequency changing unit which receives the first output signal from the timing changing unit and reduces a frame frequency of the first output signal based on the first image signal to output the first final output signal.

    Abstract: A display apparatus includes a display panel, a data driving circuit, and a gate driving circuit. The display panel is configured to display an image and includes a gate line and a data line. The data driving circuit is configured to output a data signal to the data line. The gate driving circuit is configured to output a gate signal to the gate line and to control a kick-back time of the gate signal according to a temperature of the display panel. The kick-back time is a time when the gate signal is decreased from a gate on voltage to a kick-back voltage that is between the gate on voltage and a gate off voltage.

    Abstract: Stages of a gate driver may each receive a clock signal, an inverted clock signal, a previous carry signal and a subsequent carry signal, and may each include an output part, a node controlling part and a holding part. In a mode transition period, clock signal and the inverted clock signal may both be temporarily applied with on voltages. The holding parts of the stages receive the clock signal and the inverted clock signal each having the on voltage, and in response, discharge the control nodes, the gate output nodes and the carry output nodes, thereby preventing faulty operation.

    Abstract: A display device includes a display panel which includes a pixel including a driving transistor and a light-emitting element, and a sensing line connected to the pixel. A sensing driver senses a first sensing signal corresponding to mobility of the driving transistor through the sensing line, and processes the first sensing signal to output first sensing data. A driving controller receives the first sensing data from the sensing driver, generates mobility compensation data and kickback compensation data based on the first sensing data, and converts image data into compensation image data by the mobility compensation data and the kickback compensation data. A data driver converts the compensation image data into a data signal and provides the data signal to the pixel.

    Abstract: A method of adjusting luminance of a backlight unit included in a liquid crystal display device that performs inversion driving is provided. The method derives a positive polarity histogram and a negative polarity histogram of an image frame based on image frame data, corresponding to the image frame, and a data polarity pattern for implementing the image frame, derives a luminance compensation value according to data polarity dominance of the image frame by analyzing the positive polarity histogram and the negative polarity histogram, and applies the luminance compensation value to the luminance of the backlight unit during a portion of a time period of the image frame.
