    Abstract: Provided is an information processing apparatus including a captured image acquisition unit that acquires an image captured of a device including markers, an extraction unit that extracts a marker image coordinate in the captured image, a position and posture derivation unit that derives position information and posture information of the device from the extracted marker image coordinate and a three-dimensional coordinate of a candidate marker in a three-dimensional model of the device by performing a predetermined calculation, and a sensor data acquisition unit. The position and posture derivation unit places the three-dimensional model in a virtual three-dimensional space, and discards or selects the candidate marker to be used for the calculation, on the basis of a difference between an orientation of a surface on which the candidate marker is provided among surfaces of the three-dimensional model and an orientation of a screen surface of the captured image.

    Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes a captured image acquisition unit that acquires an image captured by imaging a device including plural markers. A marker image coordinate specification unit specifies a representative coordinate of each marker image from the captured image, and a position and posture derivation unit derives position information and posture information of the device using the representative coordinates of the marker images. The marker image coordinate specification unit specifies a first boundary box surrounding a region within which pixels having a first luminance or more continuously appear, specifies a second boundary box surrounding a region within which pixels having a second luminance or more continuously appear in the first boundary box, the second luminance being higher than the first luminance, and derives a representative coordinate of each marker image based on pixels in the first or second boundary box in response to the number of specified second boundary boxes.

    Abstract: Provided is an image generation device which detects an obstacle that is present in the surrounding space, on the basis of a captured image obtained by a stereo camera of a head-mounted display, and sets a boundary 72 of a play area in which a user wearing the head-mounted display is allowed to move. When a new obstacle is detected inside the play area, the image generation device generates tangent lines 82a and 82 from an observation point H on a floor surface to a contour 80 of the obstacle and uses the tangent lines and a portion which is a part of the contour 80 and which is between tangent points AB to set a new boundary 86 of the play area.

    Abstract: A data processing device includes a plurality of cameras arranged according to a predetermined configuration, where each camera is configured to capture successive images and to detect a current location of one or more elements in the captured images with respect to a coordinate system of the camera, a processor to generate a common camera coordinate system in dependence upon the respective coordinate systems of the plurality of cameras, the common camera coordinate system comprising a set of locations in a three-dimensional space included within the field of view of the plurality of cameras, and a detector to detect a current location of a given element with respect to the common camera coordinate system based on images captured by the plurality of cameras, wherein for each camera, the processor is configured, in response to a detection by the detector that the current location of the given element corresponds to a location in the set of locations of the common camera coordinate system, to generate first data for that location in the set of locations indicative of a mapping between the coordinate system for the camera and the common camera coordinate system, and wherein in response to a detection of a location in the set of locations for which the first data is indicative of the mapping for two or more cameras with respect to the common camera coordinate system, the processor is configured to generate second data for that location indicative of a mapping between the coordinate systems for the two or more cameras.

    Abstract: An input device includes a case body and a plurality of markers 30d, 30e, and 30p configured to emit light to the outside of the case body. When an angle difference between the normal directions of the two markers 30d and 30e is less than a predetermined threshold value, a distance between the two markers 30d and 30e is equal to or greater than a predetermined first distance. When an angle difference between the normal directions of the two markers 30d and 30p is equal to or greater than a predetermined threshold value, a distance between the two markers 30d and 30p is equal to or greater than a predetermined second distance, and the second distance is shorter than the first distance.
