Abstract: A condition information acquisition section of an image generation device acquires a condition of communication and condition information of a head-mounted display. An image generation section generates a display image including distorted images for a left eye and a right eye. A reduction processing section converts the display image to data in which different regions have different reduction ratios in accordance with the condition of communication, etc., and transmits the data through an output section. An image size restoration section of the head-mounted display restores the transmitted data to the display image in an original size to cause the display image to be displayed by a display section.

Abstract: An image generation device 200 processes content to draw an image (step S22), and corrects the image as needed for display (step S24). When drawing the image, the image generation device 200 adjusts a tone curve according to a user operation for adjusting the brightness expressed by pixel values (step S20). A head-mounted display 100 generates a drive voltage corresponding to the pixel values of image data acquired from the image generation device 200 (step S28) and drives a display panel to display the image (step S30). When generating the drive voltage, the head-mounted display 100 decreases the drive voltage to a ratio based on a user operation for reducing light emission brightness of the display panel (step S26).

The luminance conversion section acquires information regarding a linear luminance range capable of an output in the luminance that is proportional to a setting luminance in a display and determines a conversion rule at least on a basis of the information.

The calibration section adjusts an initial state of the calibration screen image on a basis of information peculiar to the display apparatus, and then causes the calibration screen image to be displayed on the display apparatus.
