Abstract: Techniques of providing spatiotemporal visualizations are disclosed. In some example embodiments, a spatiotemporal visualization of at least a portion of data of a dataset is generated and displayed to a user in a graphical user interface of a device. An embodiment comprises receiving data comprising a plurality of measures and a plurality of dimensions; calculating a minimum and maximum magnitude of velocity for measures in the data; defining intervals in a range defined by the minimum and maximum velocity; selecting configuration settings for rendering a spatiotemporal visualization corresponding to the data and the intervals; generating the spatiotemporal visualization, the spatiotemporal visualization comprising a graphical representation of at least a portion of data comprising at least one of the measures and at least one of the dimensions over the defined intervals; and causing display of: the spatiotemporal visualization, and a plurality of selectable interaction controls corresponding to the spatiotemporal visualization.

Abstract: A framework for implementing just-in-time decision support analytics within a business application deployment are provided. In one set of embodiments, the framework enables an application user to be presented with analytics that are in-context and in-place with respect to an operational workflow carried out by the user, where “in-context” means that the presented analytics are directly relevant to, and tailored for, the specific business context of the user's operational workflow, and “in-place” means that the analytics are displayed to the user within the same UI/application used to execute the operational workflow, and at the same time the workflow is actually executed. These characteristics advantageously ensure that the user is provided with the insights he/she needs to make confident business decisions and facilitates real-time decision making for time-critical operations.

Abstract: Embodiments relate to methods and apparatuses providing contextual suggestion in the environment of a user interface to a planning spreadsheet. Particular embodiments feature an interface engine that is in communication with an underlying data model. The data model may be hierarchical in nature (e.g., organized according to tree structure). In response to user input to the spreadsheet interface, the engine is configured to parse metadata associated with the data model, and construct therefrom suggestion strings prompting a user to interact with the data of the data model. The interface engine may consider a variety of factors in providing relevant suggestion, including but not limited to cell type and user context (e.g., access rights) so as to further target the offered suggestions offered to user expectation. This approach can desirably enhance efficiency of user interaction with the spreadsheet application, resulting in less typing, fewer corrections, faster workflows, and greater satisfaction.
