    Abstract: A method of wireless communication by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving, from a network, a capability request including a frequency band filter. The method further includes retrieving, from a server, a prioritized list of frequency band combinations based on a location of the UE. The method still further includes transmitting, to the network, the prioritized list adjusted based on the frequency band filter, in response to the capability request. A method of wireless communication by a network device includes receiving, from a UE, a request for a list of frequency band combinations based on a location of the UE. The method further includes transmitting, to the UE, a prioritized list of frequency band combinations for the location of the UE. The prioritized list is based on a selected network configured frequency band combination associated with the location of the UE.

    Abstract: Some aspects described herein relate to reducing a delay in the retransmission of undelivered capability information segments. For example, when transmitting capability information via multiple segments, a UE may request the network to acknowledge each segment and/or may modify a network configured parameter to reduce the delay in retransmitting undelivered segments. In some aspects, a UE may attach to a network for a priority service, such as an emergency service or a short message service. In connection with the attachment, the UE may provide a reduced set of capability information that is relevant to the priority service and that omits at least some capability information irrelevant to the priority service.

    Abstract: The aspects described herein are directed to an apparatus supporting a combination of frequency bands including a first frequency band associated with a primary cell (PCell) and at least a second frequency band associated with a secondary cell (SCell). The apparatus may prune out measurements of frequency bands associated with the SCell, where the frequency bands associated with the SCell may not be supported or deployed at the apparatus when the PCell is too weak. The apparatus measures the first frequency band associated with the PCell and measures the second frequency band associated with the SCell if the measurement of the first frequency band is greater than or equal to a threshold. The apparatus transmits a report including at least the measurement of the first frequency band.

    Abstract: Techniques for managing cell update messages are described here. An information element (IE) that indicates the security status of a user equipment (UE) may be included in the cell update message when a cell update procedure is triggered during an ongoing security mode procedure. To ensure the size of the cell update message is equal to or smaller than the transport format size, other IEs may be omitted from the cell update message if the security mode procedure is in progress. Alternatively, if the security mode procedure is not in progress, there may not be a need to update the security status of the UE and, thus, the IE that indicates the security status may be omitted from the cell update message to reduce the size of the cell update message.
