In some aspects, a first node may transmit, to a second node on a beamformed link from the first node to the second node, a first signal, wherein the first node and the second node are associated with common timing; determine whether a second signal, based at least in part on the first signal, is received on a beamformed link from the second node to the first node; and transmit a third signal based at least in part on receiving the second signal or perform a sidelink beam failure recovery procedure based at least in part on determining that the second signal is not received. The TRS pattern may indicate a plurality of TRS symbols of the TRS, one or more TRS symbols of the plurality of TRS symbols having a bandwidth that is different than a bandwidth of at least one other TRS symbol of the plurality of TRS symbols, or having a discontinuous tone allocation. Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for facilitating device-to-device (D2D) communications on sidelinks. Some implementations more specifically relate to a user equipment (UE) determining sidelink communication parameter corresponding to UE assistance information or UE capability information. The UE may also determine an attribute associated with the sidelink communication parameter, the attribute indicating the sidelink communication parameter is a dynamic parameter or a static parameter. The UE may further transmit to another UE, on a sidelink, the sidelink communication parameter and the attribute. The UE may also communicate with the other UE on the sidelink based on the transmitted sidelink communication parameter and the attribute.

Abstract: Example implementations include a method, apparatus and computer-readable medium of wireless communication over a sidelink between a first user equipment (UE) and a second UE. The first UE may receive, from a base station, a first sidelink grant for a transmission between the first UE and the second UE. The first UE may communicate the transmission according to the sidelink grant. The first UE may monitor a configured duration of a sidelink round trip time timer from the transmission. The first UE may monitor a configured duration of a sidelink retransmission timer from an end of the sidelink round trip time timer. The first UE may allow start of a discontinuous reception (DRX) mode after the duration of the sidelink retransmission time if a second grant is not received during the sidelink retransmission timer.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for determining shared resources associated with one or more user equipments (UEs) for sidelink communications, including control resources and data resources. A first UE may transmit a sidelink request to reserve a subset of data resources to a second UE, and may monitor for one or more sidelink responses indicating a positive sidelink response to the sidelink request, a negative sidelink response to the sidelink request, or both. The second UE may transmit a positive sidelink response if it is available for a data transmission. A third UE may transmit a negative sidelink response if it objects to the data transmission. The first UE may determine, based on monitoring for the one or more sidelink responses, whether to transmit a sidelink confirmation indicating a reservation of the subset of the data resources to the second UE.

Abstract: Some aspects described herein relate to configuring user equipment (UE) for performing sidelink (SL) random access (RA) procedures, which may include assistance from a base station or other network component. One or more parameters for performing a random access procedure with a second UE over a sidelink can be received from a base station. A first random access message can be transmitted to the second UE as part of the random access procedure over the sidelink. A second random access message can be received, from the second UE, in response to transmitting the first random access message, and as part of the random access procedure over the sidelink, where at least one of transmitting the first random access message or receiving the second random access message are based on the one or more parameters.

Abstract: Aspects described herein relate to preempting or cancelling sidelink or uplink communications, by a base station or a user equipment (UE). In an aspect, a base station can determine to schedule a first device to communicate, in first resources, sidelink communications having a first priority, determine to schedule a second device to transmit, in second resources, sidelink or uplink transmissions having a second priority, wherein the second resources overlap the first resources at least in a time domain, and transmit, based on the first priority and the second priority, an indication to the first or second device to preempt or cancel sidelink communications or uplink transmissions in associated resources. In another aspect, a UE can receive an indication to cancel sidelink transmission over sidelink resources previously scheduled for the sidelink transmission, and can refrain from the sidelink transmission over the sidelink resources.

Abstract: A method of wireless communication by a first sidelink UE measures multiple reference signals periodically transmitted by a second sidelink UE using multiple receive beams corresponding to reference signals in response to a beam failure declared by the first UE. The method also selects one of the reference signals that satisfies a condition. The method further includes notifying the second sidelink UE of the selected reference signal using a beam corresponding to the selected reference signal. Another method of wireless communications by a first sidelink UE includes periodically transmitting, to a second sidelink UE, multiple beam failure recovery (BFR) reference signals across multiple transmit beams. The method also includes receiving, from the second sidelink UE, an indication of a selected beam for communications between the first sidelink UE and the second sidelink UE. The method notifies the second sidelink UE of successful beam failure recovery.
