Abstract: The location of a user equipment (UE) is determined at a scheduled location time based on location measurements for the UE received from one or more other entities. The location measurements are obtained at a plurality of times based on the scheduled location time. An uncertainty of the location that indicates a difference between the location and an actual location of the UE at the scheduled location time is determined and the location and the uncertainty of the location are sent to a requesting entity. The uncertainty of the location is based on a location uncertainty and a time uncertainty relative to the scheduled location time, which are combined into a single location uncertainty.

Abstract: Techniques are described for securely locating a user equipment (UE). Positioning measurements from the UE, which may be spoofed or not spoofed, are received by a location server, and used to determine a location uncertainty, which is used to determine whether the positioning measurements may be spoofed. The location uncertainty, for example, may be compared to an expected location uncertainty for positioning measurements that are not spoofed. If the location uncertainty is greater than the expected location uncertainty by more than a predetermined threshold, the positioning measurements may be spoofed. Positioning assistance data provided to the UE including information related to transmission times and transmission locations for positioning signals may be incomplete or inaccurate. Spoofed positioning measurements generated by a UE based on the incomplete or inaccurate information will include errors that produce a relatively large uncertainty compared to actual positioning measurements for which uncertainty would be smaller.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for coordinating radio frequency (RF) sensing by a plurality of wireless devices. Wireless devices obtain RF sensing coordination information that includes orthogonality information for transmission and reception of RF sensing signals to reduce or eliminate interference between RF sensing by different devices. The orthogonality information may be provided by a server, another wireless device, or a group of wireless devices. The orthogonality information is used by a wireless device to transmit and receive RF sensing signals that are orthogonal to RF sensing signals transmitted and received by other nearby wireless devices. The orthogonality information may be for orthogonality in a spatial domain, time domain, frequency domain, code domain, or some combination of these. The wireless devices perform RF sensing operations based at least in part on the RF sensing coordination information and report the RF sensing results.

Abstract: Satellite access to a public land mobile network (PLMN) with a Fifth Generation (5G) core network (5GCN) is supported by a serving satellite NodeB (gNB). The gNB determines or verifies a country in which a user equipment (UE) is located to ensure that the UE is located in the same country as the 5GCN. The gNB receives assistance data from a location server and receives UE measurements of DL signals from a plurality of satellites, e.g., GNSS satellites and/or communication satellites. The assistance data may be solicited or unsolicited by the gNB. The gNB uses the UE measurements and assistance data to determine a location and country of the UE. The gNB allows access by the UE to the 5GCN when the country matches a country of the 5GCN and may provide the 5GCN with an indication of whether the country of the UE was verified.

Abstract: A position of a user equipment (UE) may be determined using downlink based solutions (e.g. OTDOA), uplink based solutions (e.g. UTDOA), or combined downlink and uplink based solutions (e.g. RTT). The serving gNBs may request neighboring gNBs to produce downlink reference signal transmissions to a target UE and/or measure uplink reference signal transmissions from the target UE. The serving gNB may receive the uplink reference signal measurements from neighboring gNBs and obtain an own uplink reference signal measurement and forward to the UE or another network entity all the uplink reference signal measurements. The UE may use the uplink reference signal measurements, along with the UE's own downlink reference signal measurements to determine RTTs. The serving gNBs or another entity may keep the uplink reference signal measurements and may determine RTTs after receiving the downlink reference signal measurements from the UE.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Abstract: Techniques described herein provide means by which cell information indicative of a location of a UE may be conveyed to a location server over a 5G NR data connection using a SUPL message with an LTE cell ID data field. In some embodiments, for example, the UE may include the Cell ID of a LTE neighbor cell or information regarding a 5G NR serving cell, such as a portion of the 5G NR Cell ID or a reserved value or sequence identifying the 5G NR serving cell. The techniques may be applicable to the Secure User Plane Location (SUPL) solution defined by OMA and may enable a UE and a SUPL Location Platform (SLP) to support location of the UE using a version of SUPL without explicit support of 5G NR wireless access.

Abstract: During a positioning session, a wake up signal (WUS) configuration for a user equipment (UE) operating in a discontinuous reception (DRX) mode may be adapted to avoid dormant secondary serving cells (SCells) for positioning. The location server, for example, may configure positioning assistance data and scheduling of uplink sounding reference signals (SRS) to exclude SCells that are included in a dormancy list for the UE. The location server, alternatively, may provide to a serving base station supporting a primary serving cell (PCell) for the UE an indication of the SCells to be used for positioning. The SCells may be removed from the dormancy list during the positioning session or may be brought out of dormancy for all or selected monitoring occasions during the positioning session.
