Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a communication method and device for uplink power control. The method comprises receiving a plurality of sets of power control parameters from a network device, each of the plurality of sets being associated with a corresponding one of a plurality of sets of candidate beam patterns for the terminal device. The method further comprises selecting, based on a beam pattern for the terminal device, one of the plurality of sets of power control parameters for uplink transmit power control, the beam pattern for the terminal device being included in the set of candidate beam pattern that is associated with the selected set of power control parameters.

Abstract: Various communication systems may benefit from improved HARQ. For example, it may be helpful to improve HARQ in non-terrestrial networks. A method may include receiving at a user equipment a configuration from a network entity. The configuration may include a hybrid automatic repeat request virtual process number. The method may also include receiving at the user equipment a downlink control information from the network entity. The downlink control information may include a hybrid automatic repeat request virtual process identification. In addition, the method may include receiving at the user equipment another downlink control information. The another downlink control information may include the hybrid automatic repeat request virtual process identification. Further, the method may include determining at the user equipment a difference between a timing of a transmission indicated by the downlink control information and another timing of another transmission indicated by the another downlink control information.

Abstract: Example embodiments of the present disclosure relate to repetition solution for transmission. In such solution, a first device determines information associated with a movement direction of a second device serving the first device relative to the first device. Then, the first device performs a transmission of the information to the second device. With this solution, repetition number is able to be selected/determined at both the first device and the second device based on the information such as change trend of pathloss/RSRP, the change trend of RSRP of a signal received from the second device, the change trend of a distance between the first device and the second device, the change trend of an elevation angle between the first device and the second device, the change trend of a SINR of a signal received from the second device, the change trend of RSRQ of a signal received from the second device, the change trend of a Doppler shift of a signal received from the second device, or elevation angle of the second device, thereby optimizing the resource usage of the network and reducing the transmission time as well as the power consumption for the first device or reducing the failure of the transmission.

A first device determines a base sequence, a first scrambling sequence for the base sequence, and a second scrambling sequence for the base sequence. The first device generates a random access preamble by applying the first and second scrambling sequences to different portions of the base sequence, respectively. The first device transmits the random access preamble to a second device.
