The virtual illumination value calculator calculates an area illumination value indicating the brightness of light source areas to light up based on a video signal received by the video signal input module. The light source illumination value calculator calculates a light source illumination value to light up the light sources based on the area illumination value. The light source controller lights up the light sources synchronously with the video signal being displayed on the display module based on the light source illumination value.
