Abstract: The present disclosure provides a display device comprising an external device interface connected to an external device; an infrared sensor configured to detect an infrared control signal generated from a remote control device for the external device; and a processor is configured to: initialize an auto-off timer time to count an auto-off time, when a power of the display device is turned on, initialize the auto-off timer time when the infrared control signal generated from the remote control device for the external device is detected through the infrared sensor, and control the power to be turned off when the automatic off timer time reaches a preset un-used time.
