A method and system for allocating device object identifier (OID) in open machine-to-machine (m2m) system and application system applying the same are disclosed. In one aspect, the method includes generating, at a hardware server device, an OID of a first computing device, wherein the OID includes a first arc identifying a manufacturer of the first computing device, a second arc identifying a model number of the first computing device and a third arc identifying a serial number of the first computing device. The method also includes allocating, at the hardware server device, the generated OID to the first computing device.

A method for providing an IoT service is provided. The method for providing the IoT service may provide the IoT service by using a D-platform, a P-platform, an M-platform, and an S-platform, and thus may provide an open type IoT service. Therefore, an IoT service developer may reduce the time and cost required to develop and an IoT service user may access the IoT service intuitively and systematically.

There are provided a method and a system for selecting an optimal synchronization broker for each workload. A system for selecting an optimal synchronization broker for each workload according to an embodiment includes: a storage unit including a database that contains specialist recommendation information including information on a correct protocol that is recommended by a specialist with respect to a service specification and data transmission requirements; and a processor configured to determine an optimal in-bound protocol and an optimal out-bound protocol according to the data transmission requirements through a decision tree model that is trained by using the specialist recommendation information as training data.

A method for managing resources according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes: registering resources existing in a first domain at a second domain; and discovering metadata of a desired resource in the second domain. Accordingly, information management and sharing can be optimized, and registration and discovery of resources can be supported to be performed on a global scale.

One aspect provides a method of allocating a universal resource identifier (URI) to a resource in a computer network. The method includes additionally allocating, at a hardware server device, a first type of URI to a URI of a first resource. The method also includes allocating, at the hardware server device, a second type of URI to the URI of the first resource.
