Abstract: In some embodiments, an apparatus of a Fifth Generation (5G) NodeB (gNB) comprises one or more baseband processors to encode one or more channel state information reference signals (CSI-RS) to be transmitted to a user equipment (UE). The one or more CSI-RS signals comprise a complex sequence mapped to a resource element (RE) such that all CSI-RS ports use an identical sequence for the one or more CSI-RS signals in a symbol. In other embodiments, the gNB comprises one or more baseband processors to encode a scrambling identity (ID) configuration for one or more demodulation reference signals (DMRS), wherein the scrambling ID configuration indicates one of two scrambling IDs to be signaled to a UE.

Abstract: Described is an apparatus of an eNB operable to communicate with a UE on a wireless network. The apparatus may comprise a first circuitry, a second circuitry, a third circuitry, and a fourth circuitry. The first circuitry may be operable to process a first transmission carrying a DM-RS antenna port group indicator and a second transmission carrying an antenna port configuration indicator. The second circuitry may be operable to select a DM-RS antenna port group comprising a set of antenna port configurations based upon the DM-RS antenna port group indicator. The third circuitry may be operable to select an antenna port configuration out of the set of antenna port configurations based upon the antenna port configuration indicator, the antenna port configuration comprising one or more DM-RS antenna ports. The fourth circuitry may be operable to process a third transmission carrying DM-RS in accordance with the selected configuration.

Abstract: User equipment (UE) can include processing circuitry configured to decode radio resource control (RRC) signaling from a base station, the RRC signaling indicating a transmission coding scheme for a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission. PUSCH-to-phase tracking reference signal (PT-RS) energy per resource element (EPRE) ratio is determined using the RRC signaling. A PT-RS power boosting factor is determined based on the transmission coding scheme and the PUSCH-to-PT-RS EPRE ratio. The PT-RS is encoded for transmission using a plurality of PT-RS symbols, the transmission using increased transmission power corresponding to the PT-RS power boosting factor. The RRC signaling further includes a flag enabling the PT-RS transmission. The PUSCH-to-PT-RS EPRE ratio is 00 or 01, and the transmission coding scheme is a codebook-based uplink transmission or non-codebook-based uplink transmission.
