Abstract: A communication method and a communication apparatus are provided. The method includes: A first device receives first information, determines a target TR pattern based on the first information, and sends information or demodulates received information based on the target TR pattern, where the target TR pattern is a sub-pattern of a longest TR pattern, and the longest TR pattern includes a set of sub-carriers used as reserved tones. The longest TR pattern may include a plurality of TR sub-patterns of different lengths. For example, a first TR pattern of a first length is a sub-pattern of the longest TR pattern, and a second TR pattern of a second length is also a subset of the longest TR pattern. The TR sub-patterns of different lengths may correspond to different carrier bandwidths or quantities of RBs.

Abstract: Example random access methods and apparatus are described. In one example, the network device obtains a first random access preamble length of a first terminal device and a second random access preamble length of a second terminal device. The network device determines a first random access parameter of the first terminal device and a second random access parameter of the second terminal device based on the first random access preamble length and the second random access preamble length. The network device sends the first random access parameter and the second random access parameter to the first terminal device and the second terminal device respectively.

Abstract: This application provides example satellite communication methods and example apparatuses. One example method includes receiving, by a terminal device, first information sent by a satellite, where the first information indicates a first timing change rate range. The terminal device can then measure a downlink timing change rate to obtain a first downlink timing change rate. The terminal device can then determine a first uplink timing change rate based on the first downlink timing change rate and the first timing change rate range. The terminal device can then perform uplink communication with the satellite based on the first uplink timing change rate.

Abstract: A communication method and apparatus are provided. The method includes: A terminal device receives a first synchronization broadcast block (SSB) from a network device, where the first SSB indicates that a current network is in a coverage enhancement mode; then, the terminal device determines a target resource of first system information based on the first SSB; and finally, the terminal device receives the first system information from the network device based on the target resource. In the method, transmission of a plurality of repeated SSBs can be supported in the network coverage enhancement mode, and a quantity of transmitted system information blocks 1 (SIB1s) can be reduced, to reduce system overheads.
