A transmitter for estimating a variable frame structure using preamble signals is provided, and the transmitter includes a subcarrier location modulator configured to modulate locations of subcarriers into predetermined locations based on information about a variable frame structure in an attempt to transmit preamble signals; and an Inverse Fast Fourier Transform (IFFT) unit configured to perform IFFT on the preambles carried on the subcarriers of which locations are modulated and wirelessly transmit the preamble signals on which IFFT has been performed.

In order to detect an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in a monitoring area using a rotatable camera, an integrated sensor configures a first detection area in the monitoring area by rotating the camera after fixing the focal length of the camera to an initial value, and configures a second detection area in the monitoring area by rotating the camera after changing at least one of the focal length of the camera and a rotation path representing a distance from the origin of the monitoring area.

Provided are an apparatus and method for measuring an indoor position of a terminal and providing the terminal with path guidance on the basis of a femtocell. The apparatus for measuring an indoor position of a terminal on the basis of a femtocell includes a femtocell base station including a plurality of sensor transmitters respectively transmitting sensor signals for locating the terminal so that the terminal receives the sensor signals and a sensor controller controlling operation of the sensor transmitters, and the terminal configured to receive the sensor signals from the plurality of sensor transmitters, find which sensor transmitters the sensor signals have been transmitted from, and calculate distances between the sensor transmitters having transmitted the sensor signals and the terminal.

A method of retransmitting a packet for low-power wireless sensor communications of a coordinator in a sensor network is provided. The method includes receiving packets from a plurality of sensor devices during a plurality of guaranteed time slots (GTSs) of a Contention Free Period (CFP) which are allocated to the respective sensor devices; checking whether there is an error in each of the received packets; generating one GTS Bulk ACK frame that contains pieces of ACK information to be transmitted to the respective sensor devices, according to the error check results; and transmitting the generated GTS Bulk ACK frame to the plurality of sensor devices.

A method for controlling radio resource allocation for a low power sensor communication service by a relay coordinator. The method may include configuring a frame that includes a Contention Access Period (CAP) offset and a Contention Free Period (CFP) offset of variable sizes, and an Relay Period (RP) that relays data between a Personal Area Network (PAN) coordinator and one or more lower hierarchical devices; and generating a beacon frame that includes information of the frame configuration, and transmitting the beacon frame to the one or more lower hierarchical devices; and transmitting data, which is received from the one or more lower hierarchical devices through the CFP, to the PAN coordinator through the RP, or transmitting data, which is received from the PAN coordinator through the RP, to lower hierarchical nodes through the CFP.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for managing variable MBS zones in an MBS server are provided. The method variably sets an MBS zone based on a characteristic where user movement between MBS zones and content preference are changed depending on time and environment, and thereby enables a safer and faster shift of an MBS zone, thus effectively providing high-quality multimedia service in a mobile environment.
