Abstract:
Disclosed is a transport device in a video system which uses a hybrid video codec. The transport device includes a first video encoder which encodes a first video using a first video codec, a second video encoder which encodes a second video using a second video codec, and a delay buffer for synchronizing a delay time for the first video and the second video, based on a buffer size of if a first transport stream system target decoder (T-STD) stipulated in the first video encoder and a buffer size of a second T-STD stipulated in the second video encoder.
Abstract:
Disclosed are a segmented parallax barrier based display apparatus with 2D/3D mode switching and a method thereof. The parallax barrier based display apparatus may include a first panel reproducing an image; and a second panel positioned on a front surface of the first panel and including a first liquid crystal for forming a parallax barrier that blocks a part of the image reproduced by the first panel and a second liquid crystal for switching polarization of light that transmits the first liquid crystal.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are an apparatus and method for obtaining spatial information using an active array lens. In order to obtain spatial information in the apparatus for obtaining spatial information including the active microlens, at least one active pattern for varying a microlens' focus is determined by controlling voltage applied to a pattern of the active microlens, and at least one projection image captured by the at least one active pattern is obtained in a time-division unit.
Abstract:
There are provided a method and apparatus for controlling an electronic device. The apparatus for controlling an electronic device includes a marker recognition unit configured to recognize the marker of the electronic device and a control unit configured to perform communication with the electronic device based on the marker and control the electronic device using a Graphic User Interface (GUI) program received from the electronic device.
Abstract:
Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for a scalable broadcast. The method includes scalably dividing a broadcast frequency band into segments, scalably dividing a video image into segments, and linking the segment of the broadcast frequency band to the scalably divided video image, and broadcasting the linked segments to at least one receiving apparatus.
Abstract:
Provided are a display apparatus and method based on an SSPB. The display apparatus includes a panel configured to play a 3-D image, a parallax barrier configured to include liquid crystals placed in the front of the panel and configured to transmit or block light emitted from the panel and pairs of transparent electrodes obliquely arranged to cross each other in a symmetric form in the front and rear of the liquid crystals based on the liquid crystals, and a driving unit configured to apply driving voltages to the parallax barrier. The parallax barrier can transmit or block a specific part of the played 3-D image through the panel in response to the applied driving voltages.
Abstract:
An autostereoscopic three-dimensional projector includes a MicroElectroMechanical System (MEMS) processor, a virtual movable lens array, and a projection lens, the MEMS processor transfers each view image of the multiview image to a virtual movable lens array with different angles, the virtual movable lens array projects each of multiview images that are input with different angles to different locations of the projection lens, and the projection lens outputs the multiview image to a screen.
Abstract:
A display panel based on a segmented parallax barrier according to the present invention includes the segmented parallax barrier disposed in a front or back of an image panel and configured to block a specific part of an image displayed through the image panel and wherein the segmented parallax barrier is configured to connect fine transparent electrodes belonging to an identical group through a transparent electrode, from among fine transparent electrodes grouped in specific patterns, so that voltage is supplied to the fine transparent electrodes without an additional feed line assigned to each fine transparent electrode. Accordingly, the production cost of a TN-LCD panel based on a segmented parallax barrier can be reduced, and a TN-LCD panel having excellent barrier pattern characteristics can be easily manufactured.
Abstract:
A method of providing a realistic broadcasting image including an ultra high definition (UHD) image, the method including generating a first encoding stream from a high definition (HD) image, generating a second encoding stream from at least one of a UHD image and an image restored from the first encoding stream, generating a third encoding stream from at least one of the UHD image and an image restored from the second encoding stream, generating a first transmission stream by applying at least one of packetization, synchronization, and multiplying to the first encoding stream and the second encoding stream, generating a second transmission stream by applying at least one of packetization and synchronization to the third encoding stream, transmitting the first transmission stream via a first transmission channel, and transmitting the second transmission stream via a second transmission channel having a lower transmission capacity than the first transmission channel.
