Abstract:
An adaptive processing system includes one or more adaptive processing engines that are adapted to receive the one or more requests. The one or more adaptive processing engines adapted to parse the one or more requests and to communicate one or more queries to the one or more communication devices based at least in part on the information of the request. In one embodiment, the parsing of the one or more queries includes analyzing the information from the user, determining one or more next steps to perform based at least in part on the information from the user, and generating one or more queries for additional information. The system also includes an application server adapted to communicate with the one or more adaptive processing engines in response to the one or more requests based at least in part on the information of the one or more requests.
Abstract:
A system and method of answering incoming calls are disclosed in which, if the resource (18)(19) desired by the caller is not then available, a robot controller (14) will inform the caller when a call back to the caller can be made. The callback time can be suggested by the robot controller (14) or the caller can request a specific callback time. The robot controller (14) ascertains and verifies the caller's call back identity and stores the number of the identity in a callback queue (11) along with such other pertinent information as the callback time, the caller's name and the required resource. At the appropriate time, the robot controller (14) removes the information from the callback queue (11), places the call and connects the desired resource (18)(19).
Abstract:
A fully digital voice response system is disclosed. The system comprises a digital processor and a circuit for coupling the digital processor to a digital computer and a digital telephone network, the coupling circuit being a fully digital communications path. The system receives digital data from an instrument coupled to the digital telephone network, translates the received data into a digital computer query and transmits the query to the digital computer via the digital telephone network. The processor also receives digital data from the digital computer, translates the digital data into digital data representing a voice, facsimile or data for a digital computer and transmits the data via digital telephone lines to the instrument. In this manner, the system receives a command from a person and responds to the command with data retrieved from the digital computer, the system presenting the data to the person in voice or facsimile form or in a form suitable for reception by another digital computer. Because the system operates entirely with data in digital form, it is free from the slowness, inefficiency, error and infidelity inherent in fully analog or hybrid analog/digital systems.
Abstract:
A communication system capable of enabling one or more communication devices to remotely execute one or more applications includes one or more communication devices that are coupled to a data connection. At least one of the one or more communication devices is operable to communicate a request to establish a communication session over the data connection. The system also includes one or more application servers that are coupled to the data connection. At least one of the one or more application servers is adapted to execute an application to establish the requested communication session with the at least one communication device. The at least one application server resides at a location remote from the at least one communication device. The at least one application server communicates a request for processing service to the at least one communication device. The request for processing service is communicated to the at least one communication device over the data connection.
Abstract:
An integrated telephone call handling system and method are disclosed. The system comprises a unified software control for controlling a call between the system and a party, the unified control capable of transferring the call among functional partitions within the system, the functional partitions providing mechanized communication via the network and capable of directing communications between the party and a selected one of the functional partitions. The unified control includes a unified script language to allow unified scripting of a call from inception to termination, including scripting of interaction between the party and an agent.
