Abstract: Techniques for using Home Addresses, Mobile Internet Protocol (MIP), and/or other techniques in conjunction with Domain Name System (DNS) to obfuscate server-side addresses in data communications. Rather than having DNS provide a client device with an IP address of an endpoint device, such as a server, the DNS instead returns a Home Address that is mapped to the client device and at least one server IP address of the endpoint device. In this way, IP addresses of servers are obfuscated by a network mapping of the Home Addresses and the server IP addresses. The client device may then communicate data packets to the server using the Home Addresses as the destination address, and a virtual network service that works in conjunction with DNS can encapsulate the data packet with the server IP addresses and forward the data packet onto the server.

Abstract: Systems, methods and computer-readable storage media are provided for determining critical flow characteristics and predicting the network resources to compute time-based p-routes that satisfy different SLAs. Critical flows within a set of nodes organized in a DODAG are monitored and assessed according to applicable SLAs and relevant networking KPIs to generate a forecast of the traffic flow and the overall SLAs for these critical flows. These overall SLAs, KPIs, and the generated forecast are used by a PCE associated with the network to compute p-routes through the set of nodes in the DODAG that satisfy the overall SLAs for the critical flows.

The first pathway may be partially wired and partially wireless. A second pathway that will meet the predetermined service level may be determined. The second pathway may be wireless. Abstract: Techniques for using Network Address Translation (NAT), Mobile Internet Protocol (MIP), and/or other techniques in conjunction with Domain Name System (DNS) to anonymize server-side addresses in data communications. Rather than having DNS provide a client device with an IP address of an endpoint device, such as a server, the DNS instead returns a virtual IP (VIP) address that is mapped to the client device and the endpoint device. In this way, IP addresses of servers are obfuscated by a virtual network of VIP addresses. The client device may then communicate data packets to the server using the VIP address as the destination address, and a virtual network service that works in conjunction with DNS can convert the VIP address to the actual IP address of the server using NAT and forward the data packet onto the server.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method comprises: generating, by a constrained low power and lossy network (LLN) device that is localized within a subregion of an LLN, a thin destination oriented directed acyclic graph (DODAG) having up to a prescribed limit of attached LLN devices at each hop of the thin DODAG based on generating a DODAG information object (DIO) message specifying an instruction for limiting attachment at each hop of the thin DODAG to the prescribed limit; and causing, by the constrained LLN device, multicast-only transmissions via the thin DODAG based on inserting into the DIO message a multicast-only transmission mode via the thin DODAG and outputting the DIO message, the DIO message causing each neighboring LLN device to selectively attach to the constrained LLN device as an attached child LLN device based on the instruction and execute the multicast-only transmissions via the thin DODAG.

Abstract: A method includes receiving, at a home controller of a home domain and from a first device in the home domain, a first message concerning a user device that is anchored to the home domain and that has roamed from the home domain to a visitor domain.
