Abstract:
A stand alone input device can be a touch pad that provides touch inputs to an associated computing device. The input device can include a wedge-shaped base defining an inner cavity, a touch plate having a touch surface disposed over the inner cavity and configured to accept a touch input, cantilevered beams coupled to the wedge-shaped base and the touch plate and configured to deliver a force from the touch input, a haptic generator coupled to the cantilevered beams and configured to generate a haptic output in response to the touch input, an antenna component integrated within a wall of the wedge-shaped base and an antenna resonance cavity located within the inner cavity, and a switch assembly including a sliding component having a pin through a wedge-shaped base wall and a switch beam having a protrusion that engages multiple recesses located at a detent region on the sliding component.
Abstract:
In a first embodiment, a pre-formed pouch is provided that includes a plurality of walls joined in order to define an aperture. An assembly may be inserted into the aperture, which may then be sealed. Further, the pre-formed pouch may be fitted to the shape or dimensions of the assembly that will be inserted. In a second embodiment, an assembly may be covered in a plurality of layers of material, such as first layer of plastic, a layer of metal, and then a second layer of plastic. Each of the coverings may be formed by dipping the assembly in plastic or metal (or other material), molding layers around the assembly, coating the assembly in the layers, vapor depositing plastic or metal (or other material) onto the assembly, and/or a combination of these operations.
Abstract:
Connector receptacles and related structures that can be hidden and protected, and that have a low-profile or shallow depth. An example can provide an electronic device having a connector receptacle, where the connector receptacle can be hidden using a cover. The cover can hide the connector receptacle and protect it from debris. The connector receptacle can also have a shallow depth making it suitable for use in small devices. Various cover mechanisms can be used. These cover mechanisms can be bistable, that is they can have a stable open position and a stable closed position. There can be tactile feedback provided to a user as the user moves the cover from the open position to the closed position and from the closed position to the open position.
Abstract:
The disclosed embodiments relate to the manufacture of a battery cell. The battery cell includes a first set of layers including a cathode with an active coating, a separator, and an anode with an active coating. The separator may include a ceramic coating and a binder coating over the ceramic coating. During manufacturing of the battery cell, the layers are stacked, and the binder coating is used to laminate the first set of layers within the first sub-cell by applying at least one of pressure and temperature to the first set of layers. One or more fiducials are also disposed on each electrode from a set of electrodes for the battery cell and/or a fixture for the electrodes. The one or more fiducials may be used to align the electrodes during stacking of the set of electrodes.

Abstract:
A battery core includes an anode electrode collector and a cathode current collector. The battery core is created by defining an anode solution cavity on an anode electrode collector; defining a cathode solution cavity on a cathode electrode collector; depositing an anode solution into the anode solution cavity; depositing a cathode solution into the cathode solution cavity; curing the anode solution within the anode solution cavity; and curing the cathode solution within the cathode solution cavity. The anode electrode collector and the cathode current collector may be combined in a sandwich configuration and may be separated by one or more separators.
Abstract:
A battery system comprises a plurality of substantially planar layers extending over transverse areas. The plurality of layers comprises at least one cathode layer, at least one anode layer, and at least one separator layer therebetween.
