Abstract: Methods and apparatus for flexible capacity pool reservations for network-accessible resources are disclosed. A system includes a plurality of resources of a provider network, and a resource manager. The resource manager receives a reservation modification request from a client that has an existing reservation for an original resource capacity and an original reservation duration. The modification request specifies a desired resource capacity. The reservation manager identifies resources to provide the desired capacity, and determines pricing components for the requested modification based on the difference between the desires resource capacity and the original capacity and on the remaining portion of the duration of the existing reservation. The resource manager modifies the reservation as requested and notifies the client regarding the pricing components.

Abstract: Systems and methods are presented for processing and auditing data records using a stream based data processing system. Data output by data center computers may be collected and used to generate data records that include values for metrics related to computer resource consumption. These data records may be inserted into a stream which can include auditors and various other processors. The auditors may determine whether any of the data records include discrepancies. A gating processor can determine which processors, if any, to provide data records that include discrepancies. Further, an amendment processor can be used to resolve discrepancies detected by the auditors. In addition, a billing processor can be used to generate bills that identify the discrepancies and include information relating to the cause and actions taken in response to the discrepancies detected in the data records.

Abstract: One or more resource slots are instantiated and allocated to a user according to a first set of pricing policies. The user is allowed to identify at least one of the resource slots and identify other users allowed to access the identified resource slots according to a second pricing policy, the second pricing policy being designated by the user. An indication is received that a request has been received that exceeds a computing capacity. In response, additional computing capacity to allow fulfillment of the request is allocated.

Abstract: In a multi-tenant web services platform, a request is received from a first customer requesting that a second customer be allowed to use a computing resource associated with the first customer. Control of the computing resource is transferred to the second customer based on a constraint selected by the first customer. A first portion of a cost associated with the computing resource is billed to the first customer. The control of the computing resource by the second customer is terminated in accordance with the constraint selected by the first customer.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for dynamic modification of interruptibility settings of network-accessible resources are disclosed. A system includes a resource manager and a plurality of resource instances, each of which has an interruptibility setting. In response to an instance acquisition request, the resource manager allocates an instance with a first interruptibility setting, allowing the resource manager to revoke the client's access to the instance without a notification. In response to an approval of an interruptibility upgrade request, the resource manager modifies the interruptibility setting to a second setting that allows the client to retain access to the instance for at least a specified time. Respective billing amounts for the client's use of the instance are determined for each of the interruptibility settings used.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for dynamic assignment of a logical zone to a data center. A request may be received to link together different accounts. Data center selection information may then be obtained including, for example, an identification of the data centers to which each of the linked accounts is currently assigned, linked account usage information and system capacity information. The obtained information may be used to determine a selected data center to which to assign the logical zone across each of the linked accounts. The selected data center may be determined based on one or more selection priorities, which may be set based on input from any combination of a customer, a service provider and/or another party. Any linked accounts not currently assigned to the selected data center may then have instances migrated to the selected data center using, for example, one or more passive and/or active migration techniques.

Abstract: A provider network may implement resource management and billing for logical and physical availability zones. Consolidated billing techniques may be applied to the aggregate usage of multiple linked user accounts. A billing setting may indicate whether consolidated billing is performed according to resource consumption in logical availability zones or physical availability zones. Mappings to physical availability zones may be provided to linked user accounts so that computing resources may be consumed according to either logical or physical availability zones. Capacity reservations for computing resources for a particular physical availability zone may be made available to each of the linked user accounts for consumption.

Abstract: A technology is described for prioritizing a plurality of interruptible computing instances. An example method may include receiving a request to interrupt an executing interruptible computing instance that may be included in a group of interruptible computing instances having assigned instance priority values. The instance priority values may establish an order in which the interruptible computing instances may be interrupted. The interruptible computing instance may be identified that has a lower instance priority value as compared to other instance priority values assigned to the interruptible computing instances. The interruptible computing instance identified may then be terminated.

Abstract: A virtual computing resource provider may implement reconfiguration of reserved compute instance marketplace offerings for requested reserved compute instance configurations. A request for listings of reserved compute instances available for resale according to a specified instance configuration may be received. Reserved compute instances may be identified that are reconfigurable to satisfy the specified configuration (e.g., a particular type, location, or reservation term length). Listing may be provided for reservation by a client that include modified listings that describe a configuration for the reconfigurable reserved compute instances that satisfies the specified configuration. In some embodiments, a reservation request for a modified listing may be received, and in response the reserved compute instance associated with the modified listing may be reconfigured (e.g., modified, upgraded, downgraded, or term adjusted) as described in the modified listing. Access to the reconfigured reserved compute instance may then be provided to the reserving client.
