    摘要: A contact sub-assembly is provided for an electrical connector. The contact sub-assembly includes a printed circuit and an array of mating contacts. Each mating contact includes a terminating end portion and a mating interface. The contact sub-assembly also includes an array of circuit contacts that is discrete from the array of mating contacts. Each circuit contact is engaged with and electrically connected to the printed circuit. Each circuit contact is separably engaged with and electrically connected to the terminating end portion of a corresponding one of the mating contacts such that the array of circuit contacts electrically connects the array of mating contacts to the printed circuit.

    摘要: An electrical connector including a connector body that has mating and loading ends and is configured to receive a modular plug at the mating end. The electrical connector also includes a contact sub-assembly that is held by the connector body. The contact sub-assembly includes an array of mating conductors that are configured to engage plug contacts of the modular plug at mating interfaces proximate to the mating end. The mating conductors transmit a signal current along an interconnection path between the mating and loading ends. The contact sub-assembly also includes a plurality of open-ended conductors electrically connected to corresponding mating conductors. The open-ended conductors are electrically parallel to the interconnection path of the array of mating conductors and generate crosstalk compensation as the signal current is transmitted through the mating conductors.

    摘要: A cassette includes a shell having a plurality of shielded channels extending between a front and a rear of the shell. Communication modules are loaded into the shielded channels. The communication modules have front mating interfaces configured for mating with corresponding first plugs and rear mating interfaces configured for mating with corresponding second plugs. The communication modules are loaded into the corresponding shielded channels such that the communication modules are individually shielded from one another. Optionally, the shell may have interior walls defining the shielded channels that extend between the front and the rear.

    摘要: An electrical connector includes a housing and a plurality of contacts within the housing that are configured to engage with mating contacts of a mating connector. The contacts form at least a first differential pair and a second differential pair. The electrical connector also includes a circuit board housed within the housing. The circuit board has a substrate body formed from a dielectric material and includes a first trace electrically coupled to a contact of the first differential pair and a second trace electrically coupled to a contact of the second differential pair. At least one of the first and second traces is an open-ended trace. The circuit board also has a non-ohmic plate that is positioned adjacent to the traces. The plate is positioned to electromagnetically couple the first and second traces to each other and the non-ohmic plate and traces are configured for a desired electrical performance.

The circuit board has associated pairs of input and output terminals and signal traces that electrically connect the associated pairs of input and output terminals. The input and output terminals being configured to communicatively coupled to mating and cable conductors, respectively. Each associated pair of input and output terminals is electrically connected through a corresponding signal trace that has a conductive path extending along the board substrate between the corresponding input and output terminals. At least two signal traces form a broadside-coupling region in which the conductive paths of the at least two signal traces are stacked along the orientation axis and spaced apart through the thickness and extend parallel to each other for a crosstalk-reducing distance.

A front signal trace is coupled to the front wire terminal. A rear signal trace is coupled to the rear wire terminal. The front signal trace is positioned adjacent to the rear signal trace. A front mating contact is coupled to the front signal trace. A rear mating contact is coupled to the rear signal trace. The front signal trace conveys an electrical signal between the front wire terminal and the front mating contact. The rear signal trace conveys an electrical signal between the rear wire terminal and the rear mating contact. An electro-mechanical compensation is positioned between the front signal trace and the rear signal trace to control crosstalk between the front signal trace and the rear signal trace.
