摘要： A graphical user interface (“GUI”) for a software-controlled media/data organizer and playback system including a display screen with a plurality of user-activatible search and selection buttons for use in accessing the media/data selections from one or more storage devices. The GUI, when started on a suitable system, automatically senses the system's display screen size and automatically configures the GUI buttons, windows and other characteristics of the display to conform thereto. The GUI also enables the user to configure and customize the GUI buttons, windows and other display characteristics to suit his/her particular needs and preferences. Additionally, the GUI includes an improved asynchronous media/data selection search facility that displays in a GUI search window, substantially immediately, the initial results of a search request while additional searching proceeds asynchronously “behind the scenes” until the follow-on results are ready for display. The search facility is also adopted to account for misspellings, date transposition and other errors and other errors made by the user during entry of search requests. Other improved features of the GUI include its ability to merge or synchronize the search and selection buttons and media/data selections among different systems and the ability to monitor and report details of a user's activity on a given system.

摘要： A pulsed laser system capable of operating in a plurality of modes for delivering a burst of laser pulses to a target wherein the pulse width of the laser pulses are automatically controlled in response to the mode selected. A special calibration procedure allows the system to determine the pulse width and pulse repetition rate when the laser is producing a predetermined power output level as measured by a power meter at the target site. Using calibrated pulse width and pulse repetition rate, the pulse width and pulse repetition rate of the laser pulses to be delivered to the target for any particular treatment burst can be determined. Means are provided for determining the energy delivered to the target for any particular treatment burst. A potentiometer coupled to a laser spot size control lense assembly provides a signal proportional to the spot size. From this signal and the energy delivered, the energy density can be calculated. A special REPEAT mode allows the operator to repeat automatically at preselected intervals the firing of bursts of laser pulses characterized by repetition rate, pulse width and exposure time. The bursts will be repeated for as long as the foot pedal is depressed.

摘要： The imaging range finder of the invention includes a radiation transmitter, a transmitting section and a receiving section. The transmitting section directs radiation across an angular field of view by a first rotating mirror having a plurality of facets. The receiving section includes a second rotating mirror also with a plurality of facets which collects any reflected radiation. An image is produced by measuring the intensity of the reflected radiation at numerous points in the field of view. Range is determined by radiation modulation. Range may be determined more precisely at shorter ranges by modulating the radiation to produce two subcarriers and using one subcarrier to supply short range information. The finder is stabilized to preserve imaging and range finding accuracy when it is exposed to vibration or pitch-angle disturbance. The invention also discloses a method of imaging and range finding over very wide angles and at standard picture frame frequencies.

摘要： A control apparatus for a filling machine of the type employing a hopper and rotary feed auger determines the exact number of auger revolutions required to deliver a preselected weight of material to be dispensed by weighing the volume of material delivered by a given number of auger revolutions and computing the ratio of the number of auger revolutions to the weight of the volume delivered. The ratio is then divided into the desired weight to determine the actual number of auger revolutions required to deliver the desired weight. The control apparatus also measures the amount of rotation of the rotary auger after the auger is braked at the end of each fill cycle and increments or decrements a preselected set point number of auger revolutions, depending upon whether the actual number of auger revolutions is greater than or less than the set point, to compensate for auger rotation after braking.
