Documents incorporating radio frequency identification (RFID) tags can be monitored by appropriate interrogation components for movement activity. A surface suitable for placement of documents is configured for monitoring RFID tagged documents.     摘要: An optical disc is divided into a plurality of sectors each of which includes an address section, a flag section and a data section. First sector management data are stored in the flag section, normally in the form of a flag pit. In one aspect of the invention, the first sector management data are recorded in the flag section at higher laser beam power than the power used for recording data in the data section. In another aspect of the invention, second sector management data are additionally stored in the data section in the form of a special pattern. In this case, the second sector management data are read out if no sector management data have been read from the flag section of the sector.

    摘要: An optical disc system includes an optical disc which is formatted to store data in sectors. A tracking error signal is monitored and if the tracking error signal exceeds a predetermined threshold level, the address information of a next sector following a target sector in which data is to be recorded or from which data is to be read out is read out. And, if the address information thus read out has been found to indicate an address which is consecutive to the address of the target sector, the occurrence of a tracking error is determined. On the other hand, if the address information thus read out has been found to indicate an address which is not consecutive to the address of the target sector, then the writing (recording) operation is terminated so as to prevent overwriting of data in an undesired sector.

    摘要: An optical type information recording medium has guide grooves for tracking formed in a concentric or spiral shape at a predetermined pitch; and a pre-format pit formed approximately midway between the guide grooves in the normal direction thereof and recording at least address information. The optical type information recording medium is constructed such that the predetermined pitch is a value ranged from 1.4 .mu.m to 2.0 .mu.m, and the depth of the pre-format pit is a value ranged from 0.46 .lambda./n to 0.58 .lambda./n where n shows the refractive index of a substrate of the medium and .lambda. shows a wavelength of a light source for reading the information recorded to the medium, and the cross-sectional shape of the pre-format pit in the normal direction is provided in a range represented by a first predetermined inequality using a function of the second degree, and the cross-sectional shape of the guide grooves in the normal direction is provided in a range represented by a second predetermined inequality using a function of the second degree.
