摘要: A hand grip adapter for a syringe formed from a body having a first end wall and a second end wall with a support base therebetween. The support base includes a centrally disposed receptacle for receipt of a syringe flange. The first end wall formed perpendicular to the support base having a curvature outer surface to conform to the palm of an individual's hand. The second end wall is formed parallel to the first end wall and includes four finger depressions wherein an individual can place their index, middle, ring, and little finger. At least one of the depressions includes a rim forming a circular opening for ease of grasping. The first side wall is configured to rest in the palm of an individual's hand and said second end wall is configured to receive the finger tips from the individual's hand with a syringe secured in the support base.

摘要: Described are a system and method for establishing zone-based pricing for services transported over connectionless and connection-oriented networks. The connectivity network supporting the service is partitioned into one or more zones. A node connected to a packet transport network receives a packet associated with the service. The packet has information that is used to identify one of the zones of the connectivity network to which the packet can be transmitted. Service providers are thus able to use zoning to apply a pricing structure for services traditionally lacking distance-based pricing, such as Ethernet, Storage, and Internet Protocol services.

摘要: A civil engineering damper for damping civil engineered structures comprising a damper housing including two dynamic fluid chambers within a piston cylinder and two static fluid chambers straddling the dynamic fluid chambers along an axis of the housing a piston mounted for reciprocation along the axis of the damper housing. A piston web portion divides the piston cylinder into the two dynamic fluid chamber. A restricted passageway through the piston web portion includes an orifice that provides a resistance to fluid flow between the dynamic fluid chambers. The damper also includes regulated passageways between adjacent dynamic and static fluid chambers valved to allow a flow of fluid from the static fluid chambers to the dynamic fluid chambers and check flows of fluid from the dynamic fluid chambers to the static fluid chambers.

摘要: A novel composite of glass fiber paper and reinforcing material that is useful for high speed manufacturing of devices comprising it is disclosed. The composite is formed by pressing into a glass fiber paper, having multimodal (at least bi-modal) composition, a hydrophilic reinforcing material. The composite has anisotropic separation properties that are particularly useful for preparing a fluid fraction from whole blood. The preferred glass fiber paper comprises glass fibers such that there are a plurality of short fibers (6) having large diameters and long fibers (2) with smaller diameters. The preferred glass fiber paper also exhibits partial ordering. There are many more of the long fibers (2) with smaller diameters than of the short fibers (6) having large diameters. Also disclosed are several blood separator device designs for efficiently separating the fluid fraction of blood from whole blood using the composite.
