The tool holder with its tool and switch apparatus are relatively moved in operative association by moving means comprising the machine in accordance with a predetermined sequence provided by the programmer and the switch apparatus and programmer cooperate to stop the programmer and moving means in the event the size and/or setting of the tool is incorrect.
