The invention relates to isolated nucleic acid molecules, which code for a new protein of Penicillium chrysogenum, vectors which comprise a nucleic acid molecule of this kind, host cells which are transformed with such a nucleic acid molecule or vector, and a process for the production of penicillin using such transformed host cells.
