Abstract:
A method and apparatus for making a wear resistant coating on a treatment blade (4), such as a coating, doctor or creping blade, designed for the treatment of a paper web, in which method the area to be coated is subjected to a preliminary treatment before the coating process to improve the adhesion of the coating material. The adhersion surface (43) of the coating is roughened so that the roughening traces are perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the coating blade.
