摘要: In one embodiment, a method of manufacturing a high voltage power fuse includes inserting a housing over a first assembly leg of an assembly frame, assembling a first terminal fabrication to the first assembly leg of the assembly frame, assembling a second terminal fabrication to a second assembly leg of the assembly frame, connecting a full-range fuse element assembly in a gap between the first terminal fabrication and the second terminal fabrication, sliding the housing over the connected full-range fuse element assembly, securing the housing in position to enclose the full-range fuse element assembly, and applying a silicated filler material to the assembled housing, full-range fuse element, and first and second terminals to establish a mechanical bond between the silicated filler material and the assembled housing, full-range fuse element, and first and second terminals.

Along a current-flowing direction, the fuse portion includes an upstream-side first step portion whose cross-sectional area is smaller than that of the portion at the upstream side thereof, a second step portion whose cross-sectional area is smaller than that of the upstream-side first step portion, and a downstream-side first step portion whose cross-sectional area is larger than that of the second step portion but is smaller than that of the portion at the downstream side thereof.

摘要: A fuse includes a fuse element and a fuse body. A portion of the fuse element is housed in a fuse body. The fuse element includes a first terminal and a second terminal disposed outside of the fuse body. The first terminal and the second terminal electrically connects the fuse element to a circuit to be protected and a power source. A first endbell and a second endbell is coupled to the fuse element. A predetermined amount of arc quenching material is disposed within the fuse body. The arc quenching material contacts at least a portion of the fuse element. The predetermined amount of the arc quenching material is less than a total volume size of the fuse tube. The arc quenching material is compacted. A remaining air gap in the fuse tube is filled with a liquid adhesive and cured to a solid state.
