摘要: A method of targeting, which involves capturing a first video of a scene about a potential targeting coordinate by a first video sensor on a first aircraft; transmitting the first video and associated potential targeting coordinate by the first aircraft; receiving the first video on a first display in communication with a processor, the processor also receiving the potential targeting coordinate; selecting the potential targeting coordinate to be an actual targeting coordinate for a second aircraft in response to viewing the first video on the first display; and guiding a second aircraft toward the actual targeting coordinate; where positive identification of a target corresponding to the actual targeting coordinate is maintained from selection of the actual targeting coordinate.

摘要: Techniques are provided for determination of a guided-munition orientation during flight based on lateral acceleration, velocity, and turn rate of the guided-munition. A methodology implementing the techniques, according to an embodiment, includes obtaining a lateral acceleration vector measurement and a velocity of the guided-munition, and calculating a ratio of the two, to generate an estimated lateral turn vector of the guided-munition. The method also includes integrating the estimated lateral turn vector, over a period of time associated with flight of the guided-munition, to generate a first type of predicted attitude change. The method further includes obtaining and integrating a lateral turn rate vector measurement of the guided-munition, over the period of time associated with flight of the guided-munition, to generate a second type of predicted attitude change. The method further includes calculating a gravity direction vector based on a difference between the first and second types of predicted attitude change.

摘要: An ordnance munition is included in an intelligent ordnance projectile delivery system and equipped with targeting and guidance systems that allow the ordnance munition to collaborate with other devices to intelligently select targets and/or to guide the ordnance munition to its selected target. The ordnance munition may determine its approximate current location, form a communication group with a wireless transceiver that is in close proximity, and send the approximate current location to the wireless transceiver and/or other devices in the communication group. In response, the ordnance munition may receive location information from the wireless transceiver and/or other devices that are in the communication group. The ordnance munition may determine its more precise location based on the information received from the wireless transceiver, and alter its flight path based in the updated and more precise location.

摘要: A Vehicle Based Independent Range System (VBIRS) (10) comprised of individual stacked chambered modules that function as a single integrated system that provides a self-contained space based range capability, and is comprised of a power module (12), an artificial intelligence/autonomous engagement/flight termination system module (20), a satellite data modem module system (30) and a navigation, communications and control module system (40), all of which interface with a VBIRS test and checkout system (52) and a weather data system (116). The artificial intelligence/autonomous engagement/flight termination system module (20) is comprised of an inherent artificial intelligence capability that envelopes and interchanges data with an autonomous engagement controller (22) that contains all missile/rocket autonomous cooperative engagement, destruct decision software and range safety algorithm parameters required for optimum mission planning. VBIRS employed aboard an aircraft or between any combination of launching systems allows that aircraft to launch a missile/rocket from any location on earth, whether the missile/rocket is singularly launched by itself or as a larger group of missiles/rockets launched in a salvo arrangement, while providing collaborative real-time targeting to occur directly between missiles/rockets in conjunction with other missile/rocket launch platforms or stand-alone mission control centers.

摘要: A mobile ballistics processing and display system for receiving data associated with one or more ballistics variables, for processing such variables, and for displaying a ballistics solution associated with such variables in an easily and quickly understandable map format. One or more ballistics variables are inputted into a mobile computing device or are otherwise acquired by such device. Projected in-flight projectile characteristics are calculated by the computing device based upon ballistics variables. Users are provided with the ability to input in-flight bullet characteristics criteria into the computing device. The computing device is configured to depict in map format, projected paths of a projectile from one or more shooter locations to one or more target locations. Differing graphical representations of the projected path of the projectile may be displayed, depending on how the projected in-flight projectile characteristics compare to the in-flight projectile characteristics criteria at each step of the projected path.

摘要: A munitions dispenser employs a plurality of launch tubes mounted in an array as a segmented dispenser assembly. Each tube in the array is configured to carry a selected munition releasably coupled in a cylindrical bore of the tube for substantially vertical release through a lower aperture. A frame, mountable to an air vehicle, carries the array of launch tubes. A skin covers the array of launch tubes with the skin and frame with the array configured for nested engagement of multiple segmented assemblies.
