摘要: A well system includes a wellbore extending from a surface location, production tubing arranged within the wellbore and thereby defining an annulus between the production tubing and an inner wall of the wellbore, a plurality of gas-lift valves arranged on the production tubing and operable to receive a lift gas from the annulus and discharge the lift gas into an interior of the production tubing, a unique tracer provided at each gas-lift valve and releasable into the interior of the production tubing as the lift gas circulates through a corresponding one of the plurality of gas-lift valves, and a tracer detection system arranged at the surface location and operable to detect the unique tracer comingled with the lift gas and a production fluid circulating within the production tubing.

摘要: A method includes developing a lab-scale representative correlation between wettability index and tracer test return curve data for core samples, obtaining tracer test return curve data for rock at a well of interest, and determining a wettability index of the rock in situ using the representative correlation and the tracer test return curve data for the well. A method includes obtaining core samples of a rock representative of a formation of interest, determining a wettability index of each of the core samples, performing a tracer test on each of the core samples and obtaining tracer return curve data for each of the core samples, building a correlation between the wettability index and the tracer return curve data of the core samples, running a single-well tracer test at a well, obtaining tracer return curve data for the well, and determining a wettability index for the rock of the well.

摘要: A method for evaluating induced fractures in a wellbore includes obtaining a first set of data in a wellbore using a downhole tool. The method also includes pumping a first proppant into the wellbore after the first set of data is obtained. The first proppant includes a first tracer that is not radioactive. The method also includes pumping a second proppant into the wellbore. The second proppant includes a second tracer that is not radioactive. The second tracer is different than the first tracer. The first proppant and the second proppant flow into fractures in the wellbore. The method also includes obtaining a second set of data in the wellbore using the downhole tool after the first and second proppants are pumped into the wellbore. The method also includes comparing the first and second sets of data.

摘要: A method includes introducing a fluoro-based small molecule tracer into a stimulation fluid, injecting the stimulation fluid into a target zone of a subterranean formation, and maintaining the fluoro-based small molecule tracer inside the target zone of the subterranean formation for an amount of time. While being maintained inside the target zone, the fluoro-based small molecule tracer comes into contact with water at a downhole temperature resulting in hydrolysis of the fluoro-based small molecule tracer to produce a fluorinated tracer and a nonfluorinated group. Then, produced fluid that includes the fluorinated tracer is recovered, a concentration of the fluorinated tracer in the hydrocarbons is determined, and the concentration of the fluorinated tracer is correlated to a productivity of the target zone of the subterranean formation.

摘要: A method for quantitative downhole surveillance of a multi-phase flow, comprising at least two phases of either oil, water or gas, in a petroleum well. The method comprising providing at least one shunt chamber (100) which comprises a flow phase separation section (130), a delay chamber (140), one or more outlet ports (122), at least one flow restrictor (126a, 128b) and a tracer release system (124) with one or more tracers. The method comprises separating a shunt flow in the shunt chamber into a low-density flow phase and a high-density flow phase; releasing at least one tracer into the tracer delay chamber, passing the separated flow phases through each flow restrictor and flushing out the phase flows with tracer into the local flow inside the well. The method comprises monitoring the tracers in the production flow and measuring the concentration of the one or more tracers.
