    Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method for determining a presence of a relay in a pillow speaker, including sampling a voltage of a relay drive line to detect a first feedback state; providing a control signal to activate the relay drive line; sampling a voltage of the relay drive line during activation to detect a second feedback state; and comparing the first feedback state and the second feedback state to detect a presence of a relay. In another aspect, a pillow speaker relay circuit includes a relay drive line with a relay terminal configured to connect to a relay such that current flows through the relay when the relay drive line is activated; a control circuit operable to activate the relay drive line, and a feedback detection circuit configured to detect a voltage of the relay drive line; and a controller to perform any of the disclosed methods.

    Abstract: In one or more arrangements, a retractable screen system is provided. The system includes a roller tube having an exterior surface. A screen is connected to the roller tube and an upper edge of the screen. The screen rolls up around the exterior surface of the roller tube when the roller tube is rotated in a first direction, thereby retracting the screen, and unroll the screen from roller tube when the roller tube is rotated the opposite direction, thereby deploying the screen. In one or more arrangements, the retractable screen system has a roller tube that may be adjusted in length, circumference, and/or shape of the roller edge, for example, to help prevent or mitigate undesirable artifacts that may otherwise become visible stretching of screen material, wrinkling/creasing of screen material, sagging of a roller tube, uneven weight distribution or tension, and/or, bunching of screen materials on a roller tube.

    Abstract: A window shade pocket system comprises a pocket; a roller shade mounted within the pocket; and an ultraviolet (UV) light source within the pocket. The system may also include a controller that controls a motor engaged to the roller shade, wherein the controller controls the speed of the motor to allow a portion of the roller shade to be under the UV light source for a predetermined amount of time to allow for sanitization of the portion of the roller shade. The method may comprise adjusting, by a processor, a roller shade within a pocket; and activating, by the processor, an ultraviolet (UV) light source within the pocket, wherein the UV light source sanitizes at least a portion of the roller shade.

    Abstract: A motor drive unit for driving a motor of a motorized window treatment may comprise software-based and hardware-based implementations of a process for detecting and resolving a stall condition in the motor, where the hardware-based implementation is configured to reduce power delivered to the motor if the software-based implementation has not first reduced the power to the motor. A control circuit may detect a stall condition of the motor, and reduce the power delivered to the motor after a first period of time from first detecting the stall condition. The motor drive unit may comprise a stall prevention circuit configured to reduce the power delivered to the motor after a second period of time (e.g., longer than the first period of time) from determining that a rotational sensing circuit is not generating a sensor signal while the control circuit is generating a drive signal to rotate the motor.

    Abstract: A drive system for raising and lowering a window covering using a continuous cord loop that includes a motor with an associated encoder, device controller for the motor, a speed sensor, and proportional-integral-derivative (PID) layer. The device controller stores or receives a desired motor speed and generates a speed command signal to the motor. A closed-loop system applies a PID speed control algorithm to an error representing a difference between actual motor speed and desired motor speed. The PID layer uses the error to calculate a new output via PID control terms to automatically correct signals to the motor to achieve desired motor speed. A hembar alignment function automates positional control of a plurality of motor drive systems to synchronize raising or lowering of window covering shades with the shades in positional alignment. A system controller includes a time-counter indexed to a position scale to synchronize hembar alignment positional commands.

    Abstract: Motorized window treatments may each adjust a position of a covering material to allow light into a space in a building. The control information for controlling the motorized window treatments may be stored and/or accessed to understand how the motorized window treatments are operating. The control information may indicate a control state and/or a position of the covering material when an identified daylight intensity is being received at the space. The control information may inform a user of the operation of the motorized window treatments and allow the user to adjust various control parameters by which the motorized window treatments may be controlled. Recommended adjustments may also be provided to the user based on a user-identified problem with the operation of the motorized window treatments. The recommended adjustments to the control parameters may be accepted by the user and may be stored for being accessed and/or edited.

    Abstract: A controller for controlling ascending/descending of a roller shade includes a switch box, a drive cord, a cord engagement unit and a control rod. A top end section of the drive cord is wound on a rotary shaft of a cord winder of a roller shade. A rear end section of the drive cord is conducted into the switch box. Two cord sections between the top end section and the rear end section of the drive cord are separated by a guide seat of the cord engagement unit and respectively passed through a cord shifting seat of the cord engagement unit to be driven and displaced. The cord sections are further connected with a spring and enclosed in the control rod. When rotating the control rod, the cord shifting seat is driven to transversely move, whereby the two cord sections are synchronously driven to displace to the same side. At this time, a cord section on one side is selectively clamped by a first gear or a second gear of the cord engagement unit to limit the move of the cord section and secure the cord section to the switch box. When the switch box is pulled, the roller shade is controlled to move upward or downward.
