Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods relating to a fishing spear and assembly thereof. In one embodiment, a fishing spear includes a fishing spear body and a centerline internal reinforcement assembly, at least a portion of the centerline internal reinforcement assembly being within the fishing spear body. In one embodiment, a method of assembling a fishing spear includes attaching a first end of a high-strength line to a nose cone at a forward end of the fishing spear device; passing one or more body tube(s) and connection element(s) over a second end of the high-strength line; coupling a rear fitting and rotatable nut to the second end of the high-strength line; and rotating the rotatable nut to apply tension to the high-strength line and to draw the nose cone and the rear fitting toward each other to provide rigidity to the fishing spear device.

Abstract: A hunting and fishing gear includes a haft (1), a harpoon body (2) extending in a longitudinal direction of the haft (1) from one end of the haft (1), and a plurality of harpoon tips (3) extending in a lateral direction Y from one side portion of the harpoon body (2) in a direction intersecting the longitudinal direction X of the harpoon body (2), and a barb (5) or a come-off prevention section (11; 12) provided to protrude into a space part (4) from at least one of the harpoon tips (3) located in the space part (4). Therefore, when a person grips a handle (7) with the person's hand (17) to use the hunting and fishing gear by swinging it in the direction of an arrow Z, the plurality of harpoon tips easily pierce a prey.

Abstract: Presented is a system and method via nature-inspired design and engineering to autonomously fish, sort and deliver the catch. It implements rope-less fishing via a novel variable buoyancy device and an autonomous aerial and underwater vehicle as a fishing gear carrier. Its versatile capabilities are comprised of the AI sorting capability to comply with regulations, the capability to capture renewable energy to reduce operating costs, the capability to both passively fish with bait and proactively hunt for fish and the capability to gather intelligence to find optimal fishing grounds.

Abstract: A collapsible and extendable rod comprising a plurality of rod sections. Each section coupled together at any an intersection of two said rod sections with an intersection assembly. Any two adjacent rod sections may be configured such that at least one of the two rod section of the two adjacent rod sections may nest internal to the other adjacent rod sections thereby forming a collapsed configuration. The collapsed configuration may include any number of rod sections provided there is at least a first largest rod section and at least a last smallest rod section. The last smallest rod section may be the most internal rod of the nested configuration and the first largest rod section may be the most external of the nested configuration. The collapsed configuration may be fully reversible to an extended configuration.

Abstract: A bowfishing arrow and method of bowfishing. The bowfishing arrow includes a shaft having a main stem. A locking pin is slidably movable within a bore of the main stem. A fish point with a pair of pivoting barbs is secured to the distal end of the main stem. An outer sleeve is longitudinally movable with respect to the main stem and the locking pin is engaged with the outer sleeve to move with the outer sleeve. The barbs pivot between a shooting position, a locked position, and an unlocked position. When in the locked position, an end of the locking pin is clamped between cams preventing the barbs from pivoting to toward the unlocked position and the shooting position until the fish is landed. A one-handed maneuver is all that is required to release the arrow from the fish after it is landed.
