Abstract:
The compounds 5-amino-3-ethyl-1-phenyl-4-pyrazolecarboxamide, 5amino-1-(m-chlorophenyl)-3-ethyl-4-pyrazolecarboxamide, and 5amino-3-ethyl-1-(m-fluorophenyl)-4-pyrazolecarboxamide, are described. They are useful as analgetic and antiinflammatory agents in warm-blooded animals.

SUBSTITUTED 3-AMINOINDAZOLES ARE OBTAINED BY REAXTING BENZONITRILE DRRIVATIVES WHICH CONTAIN AN XR-GROUP (X=O, R=ALKYL, ARYL) IN THE 2-POSITIONS, WITH TRONEGATIVE SUBSTITUENT IN THE 3- AND 5-POSITIONS, WITH OPTIONALLY MONOSUBSTITUTED HYDRAZINE, OPTICALLY IN A SOLVENT AND OR IN THE PRESENCE OF CATALYTIC QUANTITIES OF AN ACID. THE RADICALS R IN THE GROUP XR- ARE PREFERABLY ALKYL RADICALS WITH FROM 1 TO 4 CARBON ATOMS AND ARYL RADICALS WITH UP TO 12 CARBON ATOMS. THE COMPOUNDS E.G. 3 - AMINO-5,7-DINITROINADAZOLE ARE SUITABLE FOR USE AS YELLOW, ORANGE OR RED PIGMENTS FOR EXAMPLE FOR DYEING PLASTICS.

CERTAIN UREIDOPYRAZOLES, SUCH AS (I) 5-(3-PHENYLUREIDO)-1,3-DIMETHYLPYRAZOLE OR (II) 5-(3-(2-FLUOROPHENYL) UREIDO)-4ICHLORO-1,3-DIMETHYLPYRAZOLE, HAVE BEEN FOUND TO BE EFFECTIVE AS PLANT GROWTH MODIFIERS. THE UREIDOPYRAZOLES ARE PARTICULARLY USEFUL AS DEFOLIANTS ON COTTON, SOYBEAN, AND DRY BEAN PLANTS.
